The house is absolutely beautiful! We arrived in the evening and had a beautiful view over the nearby lake and the "sundown" (which takes hours in the summertime of Iceland). The house is very well equipped and designed with love. The owner is very nice and responded very quickly to our questions. Definitely recommend!!!

Overall the stay was amazing. We can’t recommend enough to visit Hólmavík and stay at Finna Hotel over the winter time. Perfect stay to split up the drive from Reykjavík to the Westfjords. First off the staff was super friendly and flexible, check in took no time at all. The room was really cosy. The view was amazing, easy to heat up or cool down the room. The bed was really comfortable and it was so nice to be able to make yourself a nice warm cup of coffee in the morning (or tea in the evening) and watch the sun rise over the harbour.

The room is small but comfortable and clean. Located nearby there is a very nice dining location nearby called "Café Riis" and a rather strange museum dedicated to "sorcery". for the rest Holmavik has very little to offer.

She checked us in, showed us our room, prepared breakfast the next day (she did an excellent job with that), and checked us out when it was time to leave. She has implemented some changes that has resulted in the property being a better stay for the guests.
