Beautiful location, just a short walk from the parking lot but you're quickly immersed in the wild. The family who runs the site is so friendly and the yurt was incredibly well supplied. Be warned: cell service is spotty, and there is no wifi. But that came like a breath of fresh air, being able to disconnect completely.

Situated in Val-d’Or on the east side of Lac Blouin and facing the Harricana River, Au Soleil Couchant features a barbecue. It is 12 minutes' drive from the Val-d'Or city centre. Top, great view over the lake. Did stay one night more than planed because of that.

The Quality Inn & Suites in Val-d’Or is located near the downtown area, Centre Air Creebec (Arena) and several large mining and forest companies. To be honest, the breakfast was disappointing! The service was great in the restaurant but the quality of the food was poor and the hot items were cold.

The Comfort Inn hotel is located just two kilometers from downtown and seven kilometers from the Val-d'Or Airport. It’s convenient, it had a coffee machine, microwave and mini fridge. Most hotel rooms don’t have it all. I give this a 2 thumbs up 👍🏽👍🏽
