The unexpected sight of the Soviet Guided Missile Submarine...
The unexpected sight of the Soviet Guided Missile Submarine and surface ship was a delight. The presentation of the Historic Technical site as principally a site to support war and human destruction took me by surprise. Outside of Germany emphasis on the space aspects of research there has clouded this view of the site and its research personnel who played major roles in US and Soviet space flight development. The numbers of forced laborers who died (20,000) in the development and production program (to include Nordhausen) cited in the presentation makes it clear that the importance of what occurred at Peenemunde is NOT just Space related. I was surprised at the presentation, but DO NOT DISAGREE with its emphasis!

The staff were particularly helpful as they made me a nice meal despite the restaurant having already finished by the time I arrived. The bedroom was immaculately clean with a most comfortable bed!
