Overall a basic yet nice place with everything one needs for a short escape, including the SPA and swimminig pool. This is a sports center and looks like people from all the neighbourhood are attending it/bringing their children, but we had enough personal space and nothing bothered us. We travelled by car and it allowed us to move freely to Santander, buy groceries, do shopping

Breakfast was the typical Continental, but nothing special The facility look spanking new, and very attractive. The dining room was not open for meals other than breakfast. However there were a large number of good looking eating establishments within minutes if on foot as I was. The hotel usually closes the desk at midnight, however due to a transportation scheduling mix-up, I didn't arrive until 3 AM on foot in pouring rain and cold winds. It took only one prior phone call to allow me to enter and occupy my room at 3 without further assistance necessary.

    Beautiful beaches but you can see why this place hasn’t taken off as a tourist resort. No one speaks English. It’s not child friendly. Nothing opens until 9. Then everywhere that serves food closes at 3/4pm, then opens at 8pm again. It’s no good with young children.

    Maliano was a nice place , the hotel in a good location, sometimes your flight to England schedule at 10pm and when you try to plead with the manager of the hotel to consider you add little money to check-out before your flight time they refuse and inject you out by 10am.

    Santander is a popular resort for mainly Spanish visitors.

    Santander is a popular resort for mainly Spanish visitors. It's an attractive city with plenty to see and do. It's family friendly too. It's easy to get to nearby Bilbao, or to Potes in the mountains. There are fast and frequent coach services all over the region. It may not attract A list celebrities or have the glamour of San Sebastian, but it has plenty of appeal if you are looking for a sun and sea holiday, and pinxtos too!

    Beautiful coastline, beaches looked immaculate, decent cafe’s, bars restaurants and shops. The only downfall for us was that we had our small dog with us and we would have loved to do the open top bus but dogs are not allowed.
