Casa Esperanza is located a 5-minute tram ride from the centre of Basel and offers free WiFi and a shared terrace with seating area. The rooms all come with a flat-screen TV. The host Kai was super helpful, walked us through everything we needed to know. The room was spacious and the kitchen had everything one might need. Although we were sharing a bathroom with another room, we had no problem at all, we barely even saw a person from another room. The place is right next to the public stop and you get it for free with the stay. The neighborhood was charming, we felt like we were locals :)

Enjoying a quiet location in the village of Bettingen, B&B Sigrid Braun-Budde is just 5 km outside of Basel. Guests receive the Mobility Card for free bus and tram rides during the entire stay. Truly incredible breakfast, can't be overstated. Welcoming and lovely host with great tips. I mentioned briefly I was interested in a short nature walk - got instructions (a hand drawn map!!) how to reach a nearby viewing location where I saw the Alps, beautiful. Also easy location for starting off your day at the Foundation Beyeler - bus goes often and nearby. Returning is easy as well - on demand night bus in the evening, parked at the last stop of the normal bus. Told driver the address and got off right outside the door to the B&B. Booking here also gives you a BaselCard - 50% discount on many museums, activities in Basel.

Set in the Basel City Center of Basel, Pension Sunneschyn features accommodation with free WiFi. The kindness of the host, the complementary coffee, water, chocolate etc. in the room, the size of the room, all the details that make you feel welcome. The tram stop (no3) right in front of the accommodation, 10 min. to city center. We also went to the Beyeler Fondation and it took about 30 min by public transport (bus + tram).

Set in Basel in the Canton of Basel-Stadt Region, 1.2 km from Zoological Garden, B&B Laupenring, Basel boasts a terrace and views of the garden. For your comfort, you will find bathrobes and slippers.... I was very very happy with the host, and he was very mindful and accommodating. The facilities were very clean, even the washroom. The host was very helpful in guiding me around Basel, and I felt comfortable and welcomed.

Chez Jean et Daisy is a bed and breakfast located in Riehen; it offers a room with access to the furnished terrace and the lush garden, and free WiFi in all areas. If I only had one word to describe Chez Jean and Daisy, it would be: Magical. This bed and breakfast in a sleepy hamlet outside of Basel near the German border is nothing short of a treasure. Everything in the house is steeped in history, charm, and beauty. Immediately upon walking in the gate to the property, you are greeted with an elegant garden. At the door, the wise and wonderful Jean embraces you with a larger-than-life personality. Daisy, with her warmth and loveliness, becomes no stranger too. The breakfast is served downstairs in the shadow of a ticking clock that has more character than a Victor Hugo novel. The bread is homemade and deliciously unique.

Niros Bed & Breakfast is located in Birsfelden, just 1 km from the centre of Basel and 100 metres from the banks of the Rhine River, offering apartments and rooms with free WiFi and free parking. I loved walking through the garden and playing with the rabbits. The owners were very friendly and it was close to the grocery store, food and bus pickup. The owners also provided us with bus passes for the entire time we were there. An extra bonus we did not expect.

Located in Birsfelden, Hotel Blume is just 2.5 km from the centre of Basel and Basel Main Train Station. The restaurant serves traditional Swiss cuisine and a wide range of international dishes. Perfect location, studio has a kitchen with all basic things necessary and a big bathroom. The restaurant has good meals and the staff are super kind.
