Lovely grounds, delightful pool, old-world charm, and a fascinating history connected to the family who still own the property and manage the guesthouse. I loved the communal dinner, which was delicious and varied every night and a great way to connect with the other guests. The Kahn Market is nearby and a good place for shopping, with FabIndia and Anokhi being my favorites, plus there are many good restaurants there. It was easy during the day to catch a rickshaw by just standing outside the gate. The guesthouse can be a little challenging to find at night, so keep the phone number handy. I also liked that it was a quick taxi ride to the airport. The owner is a wonderful hostess and the staff is friendly and helpful. Shukla, the owner, is a fount of knowledge. There was a very ill traveler staying at the guesthouse and she tended to her like a mother, even late into the night. Truly a caring person, and she and her daughter make one feel at home and welcomed. I can see why many expats return time and time again when in New Delhi. I stayed on both ends of my trip and look forward to staying again.
