We’ve celebrated Max’s 60th birthday and this night is one of the most memorable nights I’ve ever had in my backpacking experience. The host also helped us to rent a car during the busiest days of Obon week. We are truly grateful! Thank you so much, Max and Shiori (and Happy!!) !!! Indeed a wonderful experience. The property is located on a quiet (even for Taketomi) corner of the island in the middle of a beautiful garden. The room was cozy and clean. The decorations and details made it feel like “it was from a picture book” to quote my wife. The owner is a very nice lady that helped us feel very welcome on the island and we enjoyed the homemade breakfast in the garden the next morning.

Amazing guesthouse just next to Sunayama beach, the staff is incredibly kind and welcoming. They made us feel at home for five days, and even showed us around the local festival that was taking place on Miyako. Iru the dog is also very cute and friendly:) Would 100% recommend to anyone wishing to get some peace and quiet away from the touristy areas of Miyakojima. *Also for animal lovers, we saw a bunch of animals like coconut crabs and peacocks next to the beach so that was a huge plus for me:)
