4 stars Estancia La Quinta Excellent 8.9 Friendliness of the owner who spent a lot of time with us to help us plan the perfect trekking day. The restaurant was good ( we had the Cordero patagonico and the sorrentinos de Cordero, both were really good). View of the mountains (not the Fitzroy but still beautiful !) from the lounge at the first floor Warmth of the place. Breakfast with home made crepes, flan, jams.
3 stars Pudu Lodge Excellent 8.7 Located next to two major trail heads Friendly and attentive staff Nice breakfast buffet Reasonably priced A well- designed hotel!
Rancho Grande Good 7.6 lots of people to meet, delicious hot chocolate and chocolate cake, nice staff
Condor De Los Andes Very good 8.2 I loved being able to walk with my [sadly, rather excessive] luggage from the bus station to the hostel, so I rate the location as excellent. The staff was quite helpful on giving advice regarding hikes and places to eat. The common areas were great for mingling with other travelers as well.
4 stars Destino Sur Excellent 8.9 Terrific front desk pros-friendly and informative guy, and efficient and helpful receptionist..
3 stars Lo de Tomy Wonderful 9.1 Everything! The lady who runs this small business along with the restaurant is extremely nice and helpful. She does not speak much English, yet the communication is not difficult at all. She helped us out with the taxis, answered any questions we had about the town and provided us with extra comforters upon our request. The apartment is really well kept and spacious. The location is great with trails starting within couple hundred meters, breakfast is good. This is an outstanding value for money and I'll highly recommend this apartment. Go for it!
3 stars Hosteria Senderos Excellent 8.7 Great location across from the bus station and close to all restaurants and shops, very helpful and extremely helpful staff, and beautiful accommodations.
3 stars Hotel Lunajuim Very good 8.5 Roxana, and front staff went out of their way to make our 4 days there wonderful. their rec omen dating for restaurants, coffee shops, also what was happening. Locally within the town.. We felt right At home, ,, a great fire blazing in the fire place , when the wind was howling outside...
1 stars Inlandsis Good 7.8 Privacy Kitchen facility Bed Cris at reception was just awesome.
Patagonia Hostel Excellent 8.7 Perfect place for our 5-night stay in El Chalten. Felt more like a hotel than a hostel (we booked a private room). Staff was extremely helpful and courteous, the hostel and room were spotlessly clean, and the bed was incredibly comfortable. I can't imagine better value for money!
3 stars Posada El Barranco Very good 8.1 Great place to stay! We stayed in a very new cabaña which was perfect for us! The kitchen and bathroom contain everything you need and the bed is nice. The owners of the hotel are extremely friendly and helpful. They helped us plan our trips and made a reservation for our stay in the next hotel at our next destination. I would definitely recommend staying Posada el Barranco!
Aguas Arriba Lodge Exceptional 9.6
Anita´s House Wonderful 9.4 The beds were so comfortable, the bedding warm and extremely clean. Anita was accecible for any questions and was always very helpful.

Hotels that Guests Love in El Chalten

    • Staff were nice and gave us some great information. The room, was lovely, and pretty sound proof, something missing in most Argentina hotels. Breakfast was pretty standard. The best thing was the separate kitchen, it was a great spot to sit and have a wine and do a bit of cooking.

    • Nice room. TV. Modern bathroom. Clean towels. Soap and shampoo conditioner. Good reception staff. But mind you 21% vat will be added. My hotels in Mendoza and Bariloche didn't add that. So definitely becomes more expensive. Decent breakfast: cereal, milk, juice, yogurts, croissant, bread, meat Walking distance to everything but then El Chalten is a tiny town.

    • Very friendly management, especially Julietta who was incredibly helpful. Very central in El Chalten. The hotel is very comfortable and nice, with large rooms, even though the overall style lacks of charm and feels a bit out of place in the overall more backpackers oriented village of El Chalten. The SPA bathtub was great after strenuous hikes.

    • The staff did everything to make our stay perfect! The hotel is new and beautiful, very very clean all the time, perfect location close to the beginning of hiking trails, the restaurant serves delicious food and the free breakfast is the best that I've had in all of Argentina! I would definitely come back here again, it was the perfect place to relax in between the hiking in Chalten!

    • The cabanas are located in the center of El Chalten and not far away from the bus station. The staff is really nice and helpful for all purposes (weather conditions, supermarkets, buses timetable and prices…). The cabanas are well equipped and good sized. To get hot water or pressure, you have to open all taps. This is normal in El Chalten since most hotels are depended from water pumps. If you need a hand, the hotel staff will come and help you! The wifi works pretty well for El Chalten.
