Beutiful views and a few skiing/ hiking possibilities around. There is only one slope for kids/begginers in the village of Alpbach but there is a skibus free for guests that leaves to the closest mountain (7min away) every 10-30 min. The town is cosy and not crowded (we were there in the first week of February). There are several restaurants but they have short/strange opening hours. Luckily, there is also a supermarket.
We came by train to Brixlegg and manage to get around with kids and without a car but I would recommend having one.

Smallish village, with outsize skiing.
Smallish village, with outsize skiing. Fairly large ski area - we skied for 4 days, could easily do a whole week. Not a huge amount in the village, but some pleasant restaurants. Relatively easy to get to without a car - train from Innsbruck, then mountain bus. Beautiful unspoiled Alpine village.

Very beautiful village and surroundings with lots of walks...
Very beautiful village and surroundings with lots of walks for all abilities and two lakes for swimming, Reither see just down the road and a bit further away in Kramsach the much bigger Reintaler see. It's a perfect location also for visiting the gorges and Achensee which is only a half hours drive away. The only problem is that there is really hardly anything in the village, two restaurants and a shop and in the evening it is deserted.

Alpbach is a very peaceful pretty village.
Alpbach is a very peaceful pretty village. It is quite residential so not many shops or bars (no partying) but the restaurants are good and there is a variety of food around - we enjoyed Post Alm (pre book online! Liveliest place, live music on Sundays) and also Messner’s. The Ski Juwel area (main ski resort) is a short bus and there are 2 bus stops in the village, they run fairly often to and from. Conny’s Sport is great for ski hire. There is 1 small ski slope located in the village “Boglerlift” with a button lift - great for beginners or to watch the Ski Show that is on certain dates. The mountain views are beautiful all over the village. Ski schools seemed great (didn’t use). There is a hotel Boglerhof with a spa that you can book massages etc even if you’re not staying there. We stayed at Der Berghof Hotel and it was great (highly recommend if staying in this area - however no pool.)
We stayed only a weekend during the end of summer for a short family visit. The host was very warm-hearted and welcomed us. She gave us detailed instructions about the property and the locations of interest in the region. Furthermore, I was not expecting it, but the Alpbach Card was a bonus to us during our stay, allowing us to use many nearby facilities free of charge. We visited the mountains in Lauserland in the two days and the kids really loved it. We are considering to re-visit the place during a winter ski season.
Amazing, Nice , friendly and helpful staff (family)
The room was so comfy, with a great bad, new tv, huge balcony, and modern furniture.
And the breakfast, wow, the breakfast was one of a kind, you get a table set up just for you with so many dishes and different pasteries, salads, juices and alot more, each is carfully placed with almost an artistic placement, each plate is decorated and thought of. The hotel also is decorated that way, and has a small popup shop with unique things you could buy. Dont miss on this place.
A lovely surprise! We didn't know what to expect, from the hotel or the town, but we were warmly welcomed by the owner manager Kitty, and given an intro to the hotel, the hiking, local activities and the Alpbach card which enabled us to use chairlifts, busses and visit an outdoor museum for free. Loved the room and the terrace. The hotel is a true Tirolean guesthouse. Breakfast was probably the best we had. We would highly recommend Sonnwend.
Such a cute hotel! The room was EXTREMELY spacious, so clean and organized! the bed sheets were comfortable, and there was a cute balcony in the room. The bathroom was recently renovated and sparkly clean. All of the staff was so nice and friendly! The breakfast was AMAZING, with a lot of things done for you on the spot.
Also, it was located right next to the bus station (you can ride the bus for free when you stay there)
very nice hotel surrounded with amazing green view , panoramic terrace ,the spa was fine as well, the staff were super nice we got there late after the kitchen was already closed but they served us a very delicious meal. i loved it i will come back again . ps i think with arrangements of some night events would be perfect
Everything was perfect, Christina was really kind and helpful, there was an Alpbachtal card she gave us which can be used for lots of activities around, tram access to mountain peaks, museums, swimming and more were free with this card and you can get discounts, We will definitely try to come back..
Location was absolutely perfect for Conny's ski shop hire. Breakfast was wonderful every morning and plentiful. Everything was easy. Lovely places to choose to eat at night. The ski bus stopped outside the property and came frequently. Ideal location for the whole village ammenities.
The property is in really beautiful place just in the lap of Austrian Alps with all side open views. The hosts are really helpful and friendly. They served us breakfasts with homemade butter, yogurt and jam , which was absolutely scrumptious. The rooms are spacious and comfortable.
The hotel is lovely, clean and comfortable. Location is great, right next to a T-lift where you can get to the main mountain gondola. Fair price with great classic Austrian breakfast every morning. The hosts of the hotel are very nice and friendly.
Very peaceful with absolutely stunning view.
Good location for exploring the surrounding area.
The free Alpbachtal Card which gives free local bus travel and free access to certain cable cars in the area was very useful.
This little hotel had the most incredible view of all the properties we stayed at on our 25 day vacation. The personal service of Frau Elisabeth and her family was amazing. What a great value. I’d stay a month if I could.
Beautiful village, good location of the hotel, the breakfast in the Pizzaria was very good. The apres -ski on the Thursday evening was good fun - singing and dancing. Well done, I apprec
Gästehaus Wöll was a lovely place to stay for our time in Alpbach. It had everything we needed and was very cosy. The breakfast included was exceptional and the location is ideal.
