In general, the online description of the trail is not accurate. You are crossing a mountain range.... steep ups and downs followed by a steep down to the resort. Trails are not to U.S./Canada standards especially when one adds in the fact that horse/burrow traffic is a necessity for supplies. Hope for no precipitation.

Very hard trek if you want a real hiking experience Calabazo entrance is as rough and rural as it gets. If you want an easier trek go thru Zaino. We don't regret going thru Calabazo even though we sweated like never before. Bring lots of water but try to pack light
