Hotel La Isla Pleasant 6.3 It's a family owned Hotel. There are a bunch of 1-storeyed cottages in the property. The owner's daughter, Sally, takes care of the property and she was extremely helpful to cater to all our needs. We were three families with 6 children and all of us are vegeterians. Sally took care of our vegeterian needs every morning. They serve dinner. To go to a restaurant in Parritta (closest city), it will take 20 minutes by cab for $10. The rooms have air-conditioning and you have to turn it on and is not centralized. There are lots of mosquitos, so take repellants and itch cream. We asked Sally to spray mosquito repellants in the rooms and she promptly did. There only 2 towels and you have to ask for more if you need more. No phones or tv inside the room. Cell phones work inside the property. There's a shower right outside each room to clean your legs if you came back from the beach. The breakfast served was a typical Costa Rican breakfast (Rice, Beans, Bacon, Potatoes, Coffee and Orange Juice). No cereals. No Milk. No Muffins/Bagels. Bread was available - a bread roll and not toasted. Sally made pan cakes for us every morning. The breakfast was included in the room-rate. The reception is an open-air reception and the free wifi works only there and the bar behind the reception and wifi is turned off late in the night. They have an adsl service and the connection is very unstable but met our quick email checking needs. The ocean is right in front of the property. Be careful, there are rip currents. You can watch the sunset every evening and it is simply beautiful. To get out of the property into the mainroad, it will take 20 minutes by car on a dirt road. The municipality wants to keep the road a dirt road to preserve the area as is because if they lay new roads, there will be more traffic and the animals won't come out and it destroys the natural beauty of the area.
