Truly an old castle and this makes it an interesting place to stay. Breakfast was fine but you need to ask for warm breakfast options otherwise you might not realise they are offering this as part of extended buffet. Meals in the evening were fine but nothing gastronomically spectacular. The main waiter in de restaurant (breakfast and dinner) was very charming en helpful.

Nice hotel rooms, restaurant and bar; very friendly and helpful staff. There is a nice place around each and every corner of the Parador. They even have a free sauna. The rooms were large with a window overseeing the old town of Cardona. And the window faced west for a perfect view of the sunset. The walk to the old town goes downhill but it only takes around 10 minutes.

The bed is comfortable, and the room has everything you need. The host was really helpful and kind, from the moment I called him to get to Coromina, to my departure. He helped me to call and change the time of visit to Salt mountain when I was in pain, and gave me painkiller so I could get to Cardona on time for next appointment. I would definitely recommend El Violí :)

Location-wise, you can walk around or visit the nearby village of Cardona. Everything works well, and we even had a barbecue on site. Overall the house is very welcoming and comfortable.
