A typical rural Spanish hotel set in an interesting...
A typical rural Spanish hotel set in an interesting historical village. We used this as an overnight stop on the way to the ferry. 2 hours from Bilbao was just right. Very friendly. Covarrubias was just passed Lerma and we stopped there in the morning on our way out.

Room was comfortable, slightly basic, with comfortable beds. We had breakfast outside in the morning. Wonderful breakfast with Spanish omelette, choices of hams and cheese, breads, cake and biscuits. It was a really lovely selection, great coffee and freshly squeezed orange juice. We will definitely stay again when travelling back up to Santander.

In the village it was very quiet on a Monday in late November. We did not see any other guests in the hotel either. Owner is a pleasant man who can give you useful tips for your stay. The hotel is modern, spotlessly clean and tastefully decorated. The breakfast was lovely and the staff very friendly and helpful. The beds were really comfortable with nice bed linen.
