A typical Andalucian town famous for its ceramics.
A typical Andalucian town famous for its ceramics. Well kept and attractive location. Just off the main road so excellent access other locations including Almeria airport (20 minutes) but still charming and relaxed.
On a January Monday afternoon and evening many shops and restaurants were closed so this may be worth checking. Pata Negra restaurant was an excellent choice for lunch

Nijar was a lovely quiet town, very pleasant stay with my 2 children, the shops in the town are full of local pottery, rugs etc with many having a Moorish influence. A car is needed to visit the beautiful coastline of Cabo de Gata. Would happily visit agian in the future, gives you the feeling of a very safe friensly place to stay & visit.

Parking not good at weekend , lots of ceramic and carpet / rug shops , just a nice place to sit and watch the world go by .
It's not far to the coast of Cabo de gata if your a beach person and your soon back on the motorway to lots of other destinations easily reached .
Beautiful location high in the valley just above Nijar. View out across the plains towards the coast at Cabo da Gata (lots of plastic polyfields unfortunately, but that's the area). An old farmhouse converted into a very characterful B&B. The rooms are not hotel-style but are very cozy (we were there in November) and comfortable. The terrace with pool is lovely and the breakfast excellent. Celeste is a wonderful host. The walk up the mountain from the hotel along the old water mills route is absolutely stunning.
Located right off the motorway, with good parking and a restaurant next door. Very reasonably priced, and the room was squeaky clean and although the hotel isn't the newest, it looked very well kept and inviting. Friendly staff, comfortable bed, and good wifi. Perfect for that good night's sleep when you're going from A to B - not the goal of your journey by any means, but a convenient stop on it. I'll stay again for sure.
Celeste is a wonderful host. The location is rural and very quiet, it was so relaxing, the rooms are so clean and showers amazing! Breakfast was great and evening meals too - a real taste of rural Spanish life.
The town of Nijar is definitely worth a visit and wander and 20 minutes in the car to Agua Amarga which is a really nice beach and great for our 2 young children.
Very clean and beautiful area, the best host we had during our trip in Andalucia, the only place excepted big hotels, where was served house hot omlette and home-made jams, celest was helping with planning trips to the cost everyday (weather conditions, traffic roads etc), she Speaks English very well.
The WiFi was sooo fast. You could easily work from here. The kitchen had everything to cook a proper meal. The reading chairs near the window were great and also the sofa was very comfortable. The roofterrace has an wonderfull view of the mountains behind Nijar, looking onto Huebro in the distance.
Amazing rural house 3 minutes away from downtown Nijar, spacious and with all comforts. Private parking and fast wi-fi. A convenient base to explore the Cabo the Gata park, Almeria or the mainland area (25-40 minutes by car), all the while sleeping well at the root of the mountains.
Budget hotel just off the Autovia, beside a truck stop, petrol station and cafe. The room was very clean, dark and quiet as it was away from the motorway and the air conditioning was ice cold. The shower was hot and powerful, and the bed was comfortable and big.
It was spacious and the beds were very comfortable which is very important to us. The lounge area was extremely nice and overall the hotel was lovely. The receptionists were very friendly and welcoming.
The apartment is centrally located in Nijar old town. There was some on-street parking close to the door. There was also an excellent bar/ restaurant and also a bakery nearby.
This is the perfect place to stay in the centre of Nijar. Newly reformed and beautifully decorated. Lovely touches like the coffee machine and tea and coffee. Full kitchen.
