Doña Pakyta Very good 8.3 Superb location with a terrace view of the harbor. Spacious room. Parking right in front. Outstanding value.
Cortijo El Sotillo Very good 8 We liked the wild-west cortijo feel of the place - a little bit old fashioned, but in a nice way. The staff were great and we liked the quiet and the views of the desert from the private verandahs.
Santuario San José Very good 8.5 Loved the location, the associated restaurant, excellent stay
Apartahotel Vistamar San José Very good 8.3 Clean good value for spring holiday
Hostal San José Good 7.8 Balcony and sea view, close to beach and restaurants, comfortable beds, plenty of space. Plenty of amenities at the parent hotel Don Ignacio. Excellent value for money
Pensión Aloha Excellent 8.6 I loved every piece of it. The personnel are awesome. Strongly recommend the swimming pool, and the BBQ restaurant.
Hostal Puerto Genovés Very good 8.5 Lovely little seaside village in a great location to explore Cabo de Gata National Park. Very friendly staff. Nice breakfast included with lots of coffee. Great showers. Easy walk to beach and cafes. We returned for a second night as we enjoyed the place and the scenery around the area so much.
Camping Albergue Tau Good 7.5 The location, the quiet atmosphere in the middle of nature and the clean, comfortable cabins.
Las Olas Excellent 8.6 We wanted an off-the-beaten path beach experience, and loved the small town ambience of San Jose. The Cabo de Gata Nat'l Park is in the driest area of Spain/Europe, and we enjoyed hiking the trails above the town and into the hills. The apartment was comfortable and the kitchen sufficiently equipped for breakfast preparation and fruit/salad plates. You need to ask at the tourist office (on the main road in town) how to find lthe Las Olas apartments. Or, better yet, just go to he Carolina y Vanessa Hotel on the Main Street. They own the Las Olas Apts, and will check you in, and then take you directly to your abode There's a little super market just down the hill for supplies. We enjoyed breakfast on the balcony. The washing machine was handy as well.
Apartamentos El Puerto Very good 8 A great apartment got everything you needed fabulous views.
