“I had booked for a four nights stay and to my surprise, for the money I paid, I got a full sized apartment with one large living room, small fully furbished kitchen and even a small sauna. Much more than I was hoping for.”
“If you are arriving to the hotel from the airport, there is a shuttle you can catch for 10 Euros. Which is a great savings. Be advise the towne is not fully occupied around mid-October. This is due to transitioning from their busy season of summer into winter. The solitude is great and absence of tourists and visitors to the towne was welcoming for me. No long lines. Can take a photo without anyone else photobomb your photo. I found two spa; one at Holiday Club and the other at Santa's. There is a grocery store if you keep walking down the same road (south of the hotel on the map). Bring bags for pay 15 Euro cents per bag. ***For 15 Euros, I upgrade to a room with a sauna. It was great. Virpi the front desk receptionist was extremely helpful and professional! Jan, my waiter for dinnertime dining was wonderful. Breakfast is free. Make sure to bring a flashlight if you are going to be out in the forest. I did not get a chance to see the auroras but people have seen them a day before.”
“I loved everything about this place. The owner Jussi was wonderful in giving me a tour of his property. The staff are wonderful and very personable. They are there to make your stay comfortable. 1. Yes there is a charge for taking your luggage out there. After towing your luggage through gravel paths, you will understand why they charge the 8/9 Euros. It will be worth it. You can store your luggage if you are going to the glass igloo. 2. The log cabins have their own sauna and shower area inside each cabin. There is refrigerator, stove, sink, dining table, private porch area and counter. I was traveling by myself. My cabin also had double bunk beds and a king size bed. 3. The resort does serve dinner but the front desk does not stay open all night so make sure you have If you are coming here. There is a to grocery store in Saariselka. I hailed a taxi to grab groceries and back. **Ask the reception to call a taxi for you. From the signage, it appears only taxi approved by the hotel will be allowed on premise. 4. There is NO television nor internet (wi-fi signals) on the property EXCEPT in the reception area. 5. If you are planning on dining in the dining hall, make sure to reserve your slot and let them know if you cannot eat certain food as the menu is fixed. They catered to my "no fish" diet and the food is AMAZING. Seriously, the best salad dressing and steak I have ever tasted! Try a local drink. I tried something called Reindeer Piss and Jussi's Tawdy. There is a main gift shoppe but ask to see the one gated off. There are more expensive items and fur. Also clothing made by the Sami people. I loved my stay, the crisp air, the great staff. I wish to thank Jussi, Joti, Angela, and all the wonderful staff at the reception. My stay was truly enjoyable.”
“Cool concept Friendly staff Activities”
“Clean, comfy and simple - effective lodging. Nice atmosphere, but it was mid week at the end of the season, so quite quiet which we liked. Great breakfast.”
“Loved the staff, everyone was very helpful and friendly. Morning breakfast was a great start to the day and within walking distance to the slopes”
“The place is so beautiful, it was comfy and clean beyond our expectations...The best thing about this place is the amazing team of staff who were more like a family. After dinner most guests gather up in the main building lobby and just sit and talk like a family ^_^ My sister and I really loved our stay. And proud to be the 1st people from Dubai, United Arab Emirates to visit this place =)”
“Very well appointed cabin. Very comfortable even when minus 6 outside. Great fire and sauna. We had snow. The website doesn't do it justice.”
“The view and all the toys, games, films for the children.”
“The glass igloo was awesome! and remarkably comfortable”
“Attention to detail was excellent from the lighting, food&comfort of beds which were adjustable. Amazing experience being able to see the stars&Northern lights within the Igloo.”
“We stayed a week in Kakslauttanen from which only last night in the glass igloo. It seemed that many travellers did exactly the same. It's quite interesting to have a sky over you everywhere. Although the night we stayed there was cloudy, it was still something i've not yet experienced. It was warm inside of the igloos themselves and bed's headrest and footrest height was configurable. I'd guess that it would have been even more awesome when we would have seen Northern Lights that night, but what can you do about weather...”
“Stayed 2 nights in the log cabin and 1 night in the glass igloo. It's a star attraction of Finland, I love the photos of the glass igloos posted online with the northern lights. ”
“Friendly staff at the bar. Wifi only available at the bar. Room is neat and clean. Located opposite Holiday Club Saariselka and next to Husky Co where you could book the safaris. We booked the husky safari through Husky Co and enjoyed it very much. Overall value for money!”
