There is an excellent river port for those interested in boats and all amenities available. The best time to eat is at lunch time and the best time to visit is in the summer
Small hotel situated in the very heart of town. No private parking but plenty of parking on the street outside. The room was comfortable and clean. The real surprise and bonus was the restaurant downstairs in the hotel. The food was absolutely first class and probably the best we had on our trip through France into Italy. Auxonne is just 10/15 minutes off the motorway and the overall price/quality of the hotel and restaurant justifies coming a few miles off the motorway.
The hotel is in the centre of town and is a traditional style hotel. The host was friendly and efficient and let us in before the 5pm reception time. There was a locked garage for our bikes. The room was small but renovated, comfortable and clean. We ate at the restaurant attached to the hotel and the meaty food was fine but the vegetarian food was disappointing. Breakfast was plentiful and good. There was a coffee machine in the room.
The staff was very accommodating and friendly. The hotel was easy to find and we were able to park in a location where we felt our car was safe. Even though the hotel is dated, the facility was clean and comfortable. We gave 4 stars for the dinner!! It is a small restaurant (and very popular with the residents). The menu isn't enormous but offered something for everyone and it was delicious.
We stayed here as a stop over on a longer drive. The hotel is a short drive off the autoroute but in a very pretty and atmospheric village right next to the impressive cathedral. The hotel was very clean and quiet. The breakfast was good and we ate in the restaurant as well which was tasty. Was ideal for a stop over with a little extra!
Hotel staff couldn’t have been more friendly and welcoming. Dinner was excellent, tasty and perfectly cooked and the simple buffet breakfast with local cheeses and ham, pastries and fruit was the perfect start to the day. Located in the centre of the small town we were able to park virtually outside.
