Briare is situated close to the River Loire. If you visit you must view the aqueduct that carries the canal across the Loire. It was designed by Gustave Eiffel and a magnificent structure. Yes the same engineer who designed the tower named after him. Marie-Claire and her husband were so kind and welcoming, it was like staying with family. The loft room is enormous and wonderfully decorated in Moroccan theme. The other rooms are smaller but clean and comfortable. We didn’t have dinner but breakfast was delicious with good coffee and fresh bread.
