Hotels Guests Love in Chartres

  • You can usually rely on getting a good nights sleep in an Ibis bed - so comfy! The Hotel was only opened in March 2014 so was very well decorated in a modern 'funky' way. Didn't have dinner in the small 'restaurant' but the choice looked and smelt good. Secure parking to the rear cost 8.50e which was very good. Staff were so helpfukl and spoke excellent English. Rooms were small but very comfortable but as we have stay in many Ibis's this was not a surprise to us.

  • The location of the hotel was perfect for the 6 hour drive to Bergerac (convienient for an overnight stay. The room was quiet, normally the ibis budgets are on a main road. This hotel had a secure carpark, which was great as my car was loaded with gifts from the UK.

  • We were en route from Portugal to England so we did not want to visit the centre of Chartres, which is some distance away. The hotel was easy to find with a sat nav and there is ample parking just outside the door. We ate in the restaurant and the meal was excellent. We did not have breakfast so cannot comment. The room was very good and the bed extremely comfortable

  • Staff were excellent - everything we asked was answered with an abundance of help, smiles and willingess. Convenience of this hotel was brilliant, being just across the road from the train station and bike hire with none of the noise you might expect. A three minute walk to the Cathedral and the historic centre of Chartres, so you can wander even late at night with the amazing light show here.

  • Traveling as sole adult with three kids (14, 14, and 11), can sometimes be nerve-wracking. Coming to the Grand Monarque was lovely. We all loved the physical space, and the staff were helpful and informative, recommending places to go and things to do. It was an absolute pleasure staying at this hotel in Chartres and we will definitely be back.

  • Always think of Best Western as as very much chain of average, but ok hotels, but the Grand Monarque far exceeded these expectations. It felt far more individual Warm reception, all staff we met were excellent. Lovely room, bar warm and cosy, the brasserie restaurant unexpectedly good. We could not fault the hotel. We will return.

Le Clos Chedeville Wonderful 9.1 We were made most welcome -once we had located Le Clos Chedeville , having passed the gate once and got into the one-way system. The apartment was well fitted out with a very comfortable bed, an excellent bathroom and small kitchenette. We were given guides and instruction as to how to find places of interest and restaurants for an evening meal. The breakfast in the the family's magnificent dining room was superb: your choice of hot drink, plus freshly-squeezed orange juice, yoghurt with small pots of jams, and the most delicious array of warm croissants, pastries and bread- wonderful!
