Our room was large and comfortable, the hostess very kind and the dinner very good. It’s a very small town but the location next to the chateau is quite scenic.

Owners perfect hosts. Breakfast excellent, fresh and plenty of choice. The two dogs are hilarious. Very welcoming too. But heed the warnings of the owners and don't leave doors open. They're sneak thieves!

What a fun place to stay! Tent was beautifully decorated, beds had lots of blankets and high-quality sheets. Also kept us dry despite thunderstorms! Staff was super supportive. Nothing fancy about the bathroom facilities, but exceeded my expectations. Breakfast was fresh and plenty of food.

I was surprised by the kindness and quitness of this hidden manoir. Our room was very unique, spacious and cosy. The breakfast was "impeccable", French with a touch of English, starring fresh fruit and homemade cake. We will come back in a few years!

There isn't really a whole lot to St-Michel-sur-Loire so you will have to travel to the nearest town, Langeais to access cafes and restaurants. It is only a 5 minute journey by car but wouldn't really be possible to walk as there is no footpath. However, Langeais, as a little French town, is really quaint and beautiful with a gorgeous and interesting Chateau where we learnt all about Anne de Bretagne (Anne of Brittany). That is definitely worth a visit! There are some good eateries too but if you really want to push the boat out and totally spoil yourself with a superb French dining experience, visit the restaurant of Au Coin des Halles in Langeais.
