Fantastic staff and great location - as long as you can manage a gentle (but fairly long) uphill climb if on foot.
Breakfast was traditional (by which I mean somewhat old fashioned) but delicious.
Good parking and overall a great stay in a traditional English Riviera hotel.

A lovely quiet spot, but within easy reach of facilities.
A lovely quiet spot, but within easy reach of facilities. The staff were friendly, helpful and efficient. Our room was spacious, clean and well equipped. We also had our dog with us, who was made to feel welcome too. Our evening meal was fabulous, well cooked and very tasty. Breakfast had an excellent menu to choose from and again the food was excellent.

Wonderful views.
Wonderful views. Easy access to Teignmouth, Shaldon and the Ness all with easy parking and lovely beaches. Jacks Patch Nursery is worth a visit and they have an excellent restaurant. Very friendly area. Great base for visiting all along the coastal area and inland to Dartmoor and surrounding villages.

Bishopsteighton itself was a surprise - 3 pubs; a vineyard and an historic church which has the graves of a number of Nelson's admirals in its churchyard. Great place to visit from with 2 miles to Teignmouth (which you can walk) beaches and train station. Trains on the riviera train line to dartmouth to the south and exeter and exmouth to the north.
Exeter cathedral is well worth a visit.
Just a minor point to note that the booking.com website identifies that the king size room has a bath - however only one room has a bath - ours had a shower (again not an issue for us). The booking.com site should say bath or shower.

Plenty of places to visit, even when the weather not too great. Beautiful views. Went on steam train for the experience and thoroughly enjoyed. Visit the Marble factory about 15min drive from hotel, amazing place and lunch was superb . Been to this area about 4 times over the last 5 years and have always found plenty of places to visit all within a short distance of travel.

Loved that feeling of being on holiday :D, real local feel and recommended surrounding areas such as Dawlish. Went to Coombe Cellars for a meal which was very good. Attended local murder/mystery evening. Great views everywhere. Lots of country lanes. Visited Canonteign Falls (for the second time, dogs on leads) and it was as lovely as ever. Reasonable adult entry, could spend a whole day with a picnic. Great for kids with fairy gardens, walks, little wooden top people and hidden items around the falls and gardens. There was an abseiling event on. Nuthatches come to the outside cafe tables in the summer. The whole area will take a week to explore and enjoy.

Extremely dog friendly and you will be met by Harvey the beautiful chocolate Labrador who is so friendly.
Bathrooms have lovely toiletries, loved them so much we ended up buying some from
Amazon, couldn’t believe how expensive they were.

The management staff and guests made our stay at Cockhaven Arms over Christmas enjoyable memorable and so peaceful. The quality of the food was amazing with a well thought out menu, the freshly sandwiches were just so good.
Christmas Day was a total success from bubbles at breakfast, to table layout, to the most wonderful Christmas lunch, and so plentiful. Thank you for a wonderful stay and such attentive, friendly service and wonderful food.
We only stayed for one night before going onto Dawlish. We arrived early to a warm welcome and our room was ready. Our room was spotless and very comfortable. We had some drinks in the garden before having dinner. The food was amazing. Very tasty and very filling. Highly Recommended. Breakfast was served promptly in the morning and was adequate. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at The Cockhaven Arms.
This is a charming place to stay, converted from a manor house. It is therefore of its period, and so do not expect a swanky modern hotel. But it is very comfortable and the staff are kindly and helpful. It was everything that I needed and more, with a tasty full English breakfast.
Lovely hotel and you can see that there has been some investment. My room was very nice clean and comfortable.Great shower cubicle which I’d asked for.My evening meal was the pork belly and it was amazing.Breakfast was very good and its a must return.
Situated in a lovely village location within easy reach of Teignmouth by car or bus. A small and very friendly hotel; a good sized comfortable room with a view of the estuary. A varied menu in the restaurant, the food was of an excellent standard.
Fantastic hotel. Great spacious room and huge bathroom. Really comfy bed. Breakfast was delicious, best scrambled eggs with salmon I've had. 😋 staff are brilliant, go above and beyond and very attentive. Fantastic views as well.
The Cockhaven Arms was excellent in every respect. Room was well appointed and comfortable, with a large bed. Breakfast food and service were very good, as were the evening meals.
