A great ambience to an old English hotel. Rooms are always well fitted out, with comfortable beds and a little welcome badger on the bed! Some rooms are like rooms from a grand English home. There is a choice of places to eat add the food is good. Request for an ironing board was handled immediately.

    Blandford Forum had a lovely park with a large waterlily...

    Blandford Forum had a lovely park with a large waterlily pond (would be so amazing to visit this in May or whenever the lilies flower!) and a pleasant river walk . The town had a nice place to have a drink (The Crown Hotel) and a Morrisons which was convenient as well as some coffee shops and small unusual shops. There were some lovely charity shops and the town was a welcome refuge from the more busier places we could have visited. I went to the fashion museum. It was a pleasant small town.

    Blandford has lovely riverside walks if you have a dog - you might be lucky to see kingfishers and otters there! There are plenty of coffee shops and a Morrisons supermarket - it is a 2 minute drive from Downwood Holidays.

    Such a cute little area.

    Such a cute little area. Shops, takeaways, pubs, and charity shops every corner you turn. Close to Weymouth for tourists along with a £3 bus straight to there. Very gorgeous area and the people around there are the sweetest.

    We are senior citizens and we found it easy to access the town - basically one main road . Evening meals at in Crown Hotel, Italian Restaurant and Steak houses - very satisfactory. Plenty in the area of South Devon to make the most a seven day break. Blandford is a springboard for visits to coast and inland sightseeing.We shall return in future years.

    So interesting, and friendly.

    So interesting, and friendly. Fashion museum a real gem, lovely tea room, I could have spent all day there. The main displays change every 2 years and there are always different pop up displays through the year. Be careful to stay around museum opening times though. Most are closed Sundays and odd days in week.

    We had gone for a funeral and had half a day to spare - we really enjoyed walking around the town which was full of history and character; very attractive with lots of independent shops and friendly locals. Would definitely like to come back and see a bit more.

    Clean, comfortable and well presented property. Homely. Nice kitchen. Peaceful atmosphere. Some excellent reading material in the living room. There are Buddhist style ornaments and other decorations, some of which had a fun touch of humour. The landlady, Sophia, is very kind, understanding, friendly and welcoming! It's good to know that she has another property nearby which she also lets to travellers. If I'm ever in Blandford, I would certainly be happy to stay here again. It was pleasant, and great value for the money.

    The accommodation was spacious and close to convenient parking and a busy shopping area. It must have been a beautiful building before conversion to flats. Blandford is very convenient for day trips to interesting locations surrounded by lovely farmland.
