Room was a good size, clean, cosy and modern. The shower is convenient in the morning but there was also a bath which is great for a nice soak in the evening. I had both an evening meal and breakfast at the pub and both were excellent. I'm working away from home in Chepstow so also very convenient as avoids any possible disruption from bridge closures.

Loved the view of the river Severn that I had from my room. I also appreciated how it was in the middle of town, and that you could tell the hotel was possibly from the later middle ages. Overall, the hotel was in a great location for exploring a bit of Chepstow.

We chose to have the half breakfast (continental) and it was good. Delicious creative fruit bowls. We loved our visits with Elizabeth and Rodney. They were so friendly and welcoming. When we left it felt like we were leaving family.

Chepstow is "picture-book town" with cobble stoned, narrow winding roads, lined by beautiful terraced houses, each front-door in different colour. Countless flower-pedestals, flowerpots and troughs everywhere in public spaces - are all overwhelming "charm-overdrive" for the senses. The amassing people of Chepstow are genuinely welcoming, with their broadest smiles from the heart. IT WAS LIKE BEING LOST IN A CHILDREN'S STORY BOOK. We kept singing `Balamory....' everywhere we went in Chepstow. Colin’s ice-cream shop serves LOVE & HAPPINESS with their ice-cream. Chepstow Castle, Museum, the Old Wye Bridge, The Riverside Pub - with live music bouncing off the rock-face of the cliff across the river, The Boat Inn with their lovely food, St Mary's Church with its beautiful architecture of the past - They all come to gather, to create a land of magic. CHEPSTOW IS A DREAM YOU DON'T WANT TO WAKE UP FROM. Do go and experience this hidden world of charm.

I lived in the Chepstow area for over 30 years and was visiting having moved away 7 years ago. It has changed in those years mainly because of the Severn Bridge tolls being removed and people moving in from the cities close by. There are more bars and restaurants there now to meet the needs of the increased population but the town itself feels in need of some TLC. It's still a great location for visiting the Forest of Dean and Wye Valley areas though and you can easily get the train to Gloucester, Cheltenham and Cardiff so is great as a base for visiting other places.

An interesting place, a short walk to the castle with good parking facilities. Quite hilly for walking, a great italian restaurant about 100 yard walk, a busy pub across the road. Has a railway station not far away. A 20 minute drive into Bristol - over the Severn Bridge.

The Castle was quite an experience in itself and we loved the free community museum down the street. Allow a couple of hours to see everything. If you walk halfway across the old bridge you can take a photo with one foot in Wales and the other in England. There are fun seal sculptures by the riverside near a little park with lovely flowering trees and daffodils (Spring).

Really surprised what a pleasant stay I had. It's right in the centre of town and very good value for money. Bear this in mind and you won't be disappointed. The room was good, the staff were helpful, the bar area was busy and even the breakfast was fine. Would definitely stay there again. Don't expect top quality fittings but a good comfortable sleep in a hotel in the centre of town. I heard a someone asking for two rooms for the next visit and this points to the value of this hotel.

Couples get away for a concert in caldicot castle. Taxi with K&M (hotel recommended choice) was very expensive £25 for a short trip plus the same on return total £50......** Book with AFON private hire (Dave)** who was much cheaper plus will do deals if you share with others going to the same destination. Caldicot and Chepstow for nights out are good.. 3 Tuns pub great live entertainment in Chepstow. Hotel breakfast was stunning. Definitely a golfers hotel.
