    Shopping Destination with Convenient Station

Midway between central London and Gatwick Airport, Croydon is a shopping haven. Hundreds of stores are found under the glass-roofed Whitgift Centre and the even more modern Centrale complex.

This thriving retail industry is one factor contributing to the town being London’s 3rd most important business area, so naturally it has its fair share of skyscrapers. Also tall is the red-brick Croydon Clocktower, housing the town museum, and attached to the town hall overlooking Queen’s Gardens.

Opposite is Fairfield Halls, a large arts venue behind which run train lines connecting East Croydon Station to London Victoria in one direction, and Gatwick and Brighton in the other. Modern trams also link the town to other suburbs. Croydon used to have its own airport (once more important than Heathrow) and its former terminal is a museum open one Sunday a month.

The town minster houses tombs of some archbishops of Canterbury and their summer residence was Croydon Palace, now a school. Much more famous is the BRIT School which has nurtured musical artists including Adele, Jessie J and Katie Melua.

The Croydon accommodation on includes 4-star hotels with pools, guest houses with parking and cheap apartments. In the Borough of Croydon are Addington, home of an opulent palace, and neighbouring Shirley with its Grade II-listed windmill.

Hotels that guests love in Croydon

    • Staff very kind, friendly and professional, impeccable clean, hotel position very close to Croydon South Railway Station where it takes 14 minutes to arrive in Victoria Railway Station ( center of London ). We thank especially to Consuela who was the best tourist guide and for the surprise she prepared for our daughters birthday.

    • good location (Croydon East is only 20 mins. away by train from London Bridge). It is a regular range hotel for an Hilton chain, even if there is still something to fix up better in the structure. Good hotel, anyway

    • Very nice manager - gave us a lot of tips what to see in London. He put a ventilator in our room himself when the weather became very hot (yes it really can become hot in England!) Supermarkets and cafes are nearby. The bus to west croydon station and east croydon station stops directly in front of the hotel. I would come back.

    • I liked the hotel it was really quiet.the manager Mr Ali is amazing! Always ready to help me whenever i needed.close to east croydon station and it takes max 15 minutes to get to Victoria Station. There were 2 supermarkets nearby pubs and places to eat. I would definetly come back here if i came to visit london anytime soon.

    • Perfect hotel for London visit. Just 3 min. walking to trainstation East Croydon. 20 min ride to London Bridge. New hotel in a quiet area with good breakfast and bar in the evening. Will stay again there on my next visit.
