It’s a very pretty village and there are some great pubs and places to eat . It has great access to good walks by the Thame. There is a little shop which has everything you might need if visiting . The abbey is wonderful to see and often has various things going on .

Unfortunately we arrived quite late so not really able to explore the village, though we did have a walk around the grounds of the Abbey. We would have liked to visit the Astin Martin museum though found out it was actually closed on Sundays. Will definitely visit the area again, perhaps in the warmer months.

Very interesting historic village.
Very interesting historic village. Little through traffic thanks to the bypass so quiet. Dorchester Abbey is well worth a visit. Lovely walks all around, lots of footpath signs. A 10 minute easy walk brings you to the bypass where you can catch a frequent bus service into Oxford/Wallingford, and the buses run until early morning!

It was our first visit there and we were pleasantly surprised how beautiful this village was, full of old traditional charm and quaint cottage style houses. There were a few pubs there offering a variety of food and drinks. We really enjoyed the fish platter at The George Inn as their Friday offer. We had a pleasant walk around the village and visited the Old Abbey.

Very impressed with this hotel, in lovely location opposite Dorchester Abbey, staff very friendly & welcoming (thanks Saskia), stunning room, very well appointed, great attention to detail, Nespresso coffee machine, even a rubber duck in bath ! Beautiful furnishings, great bathroom, comfy bed, even an assortment of games, everywhere was spotlessly clean.
Restaurant & bar area beautifully furnished, warm & welcoming. Excellent choice at breakfast served with a smile.
Will definitely stay here again
The minimal staff and owner were lovely, helpful and friendly.
This establishment has so much potential but needs to address staffing situation. There was a long list of staff vacancies in the toilets which clearly speaks volumes.
Our room was super and clean. Great shower and tea/coffee making facilities. Comfortable bed. Beautiful location. We would go again as long as we were assured of a decent menu... and a chef!
All the basics were fine. Apparently the Chef had recently walked out so there were no evening meals available which forced us into the George Hotel just up the road where the food and service was excellent so this turned out to be a blessing in disguise
It was overall reasonable value for money
A beautifully redone inn. The staff (and particularly Amy the manager) were excellent. Absolutely delightful way to enjoy history and heritage in a small English village. The rooms are comfortable well appointed could not ask for more. Would highly recommend staying at this hotel.
My room was beautiful with the all important comfortable bed! The atmosphere was very friendly and all the other guests I met also appeared to be enjoying their stay. The staff were very accommodating to all our needs. I also very much enjoyed the historical heritage of the hotel.
Beautiful, quaint hotel in a small village near to Abingdon. Not too far off the A34, so really convenient for us to break our journey further north. Great value for money. Room was comfortable, breakfast was tasty, staff were really friendly.
Breakfast was excellent!!!, many choices and good different options. great service. I would go back if I need an hotel in same area. I will recommend this hotel to y friends and family.
Everything. The hotel was quaint with the rooms named after different events and people. I stayed in th Henly regatta room. Staff were friendly and helpful.
Breakfast and dinner were both amazing. Convenient parking. Ground floor room in stables as requested. Perfect location for Oxfordshire if you have a car.
