Tal Y Don Hotel, hotel in Dyffryn

Offering a bar and en suite accommodation, Tal Y Don Hotel is located in the heart of the small seaside town of Barmouth, in Gwynedd, North Wales.

Early check in.  Bright and spacious room, nice view of quaint street, hills at the back.  Especially loved the hugh white supersoft cuddly fluffy towel. Friendly people. Breakfast very good, cooked to order.  Nice beer garden at the rear. Pretty fairy lights in the pub. Quiet midweek. All in all we enjoyed our stay and will definitely choose this hotel again.

The heating didn’t work properly we had to have someone come out to fix it, they couldn’t fix the underfloor heating. Had no hot water for a bath or to wash the dishes, contacted the vendor with no response, so would not recommend. Very dissatisfied

As we have family there, we did not see perhaps all this...

As we have family there, we did not see perhaps all this place has to offer. We are however aware that some businesses have since left in the past few years. We ate at 1957 which is in the next village and comes highly recommended. Dyffryn is easy to walk around as it is not that big.

The house was immaculate and well equipped.

The house was immaculate and well equipped. Lots of places to sit and chill. Xbox in a room ideal for the kids, games cards and a choice of books if you wanted to stay in and tvs in almost every room. The gardens are beautifully kept and lovely to sit in to relax. The views are nice. Easy access to a number of places to visit, Barmouth one way Harlech Porthmirion Black Rock sands etc the other. (Porthmirion is a must to visit). The Ysgethin Inn is in walking distance less than 10mins. Its set along a river. The food is lovely (you must book a table) the staff are friendly atmosphere is good. This overall is a must! We highly recommend and will return.

My wife and I travel from the West Midlands to the Dyffryn...

My wife and I travel from the West Midlands to the Dyffryn area at least twice a year and have been doing so for 35 + years. It is a beautiful coastline with wonderful views over Snowdonia and surrounding countryside. Lovely beaches, country pubs and walks. It is one of our favourite places to have holidays and we will continue to visit as we do now if not more.

The hotel was lovely and the beds were really comfortable with plenty of pillows!Everwhere was very clean and tidy and the room was well presented. The en-suite shower room was small but fulfilled our needs. There was a wide selection of hot drink sachets provided with the kettle and biscuits. The staff were lovely and the breakfast was excellent with a good selection. The location was very beautiful and I wish we could have stayed longer to see more of it. Thanks so much for a lovely stay.

the hotel is more of a inn really, not a hotel. I asked for a double bed and it was 2 singles pushed together which did make sleeping in it uncomfortable. the toilet and shower areas were both small and a bit cramped. The staff were good and helpful food was to my like. 6 out of 10 for me.

Within easy reach of railway station, village, beach etc. Facilities excellent. Because I was leaving early, the hoteliers provided a wide range of breakfast opportunities for my onward travel. Kept me warm during a particularly cold and windy night.

The owners /management were very friendly and helpful. We were able to get a go breakfast even though we missed the time during the breakfast window that the kitchen stayed open. The smallness of the hotel made for a unique stay.
