We really enjoyed Lynton. We walked from our hotel in Rockford and enjoyed a pint and great fish and chips on a quiet, out of season Sunday. I imagine it's a different proposition in the Summer, but we prefer places like this when it's a bit quieter.

Lynton/Lynmouth - vey nice area. We hiked from Lynmouth up the hill - going right to pub 'the blue ball inn' - then on to Watersmeet - from there up the stream to Rockford Inn and then down to Lynmouth again.
Really nice walk!

Lynton is a nice cliff side town above Lynmouth. A few small streets dotted with interesting local shops, cafes and restaurants. Some amazing walks along the cliffs, head west to the valley of the rocks, look out for the feral goats on the cliff side. Lynton is connected to Lynmouth by a cliff railway which is water powered, or walk down for spectacular views.

Lynton and Lynmouth live up to their reputations.
Lynton and Lynmouth live up to their reputations. Spectacular scenery wherever you went. so many walks to choose from and the railway if you were not too adventurous, We had the most amazing views from our accommodation, which carried on through the lovely walks down into Lynton and then onto Lynmouth,
My room had a stunning view of the church and coastline. It was clean and as described. The hotel was also brilliantly located–I was able to trek out to the Valley of Rocks directly from the front door! There were also several restaurants and shops close by.
I was a bit worried about Wifi, as I was working remotely while traveling, and was not disappointed. As of Oct 2022, the connection was strong enough to sustain Zoom meetings with multiple participants (I did not screen share, but suspect it would have worked all right).
We received such a warm welcome when we arrived. Owners Rebecca and Steve could not have done more for us to make us feel at home. The hotel is well located, and we had a great view of both the sea and the cliff railway from our room. The staff of this hotel went out of their way to ensure we were enjoying our stay and provided great advice on how to make the most out of our time in Lynton and Lynmouth. We will definitely be visiting again.
The friendly, 5* service from everyone. The location so you can easily access the coastal path or pop into Lynton and Lynmouth.
The breakfast was great! The view spectacular - we were fortunate with weather and ‘Amalfi Coast’ springs to mind!
Pre dinner drinks at the bar or on the terrace were welcomed and relaxing.
Comfy bed and big bathroom. Happy, happy.
Great location with superb sea views and access to cliff walk. Service was excellent. Dinner and breakfast were delicious in a wonderful dining area. The self-serve honor bar was excellent for happy hour on the balcony. Our room was spacious, wonderfully appointed, and had a great view. I would highly recommend the North Cliff Hotel and would stay there again.
old fashioned Inn next to the river with access to some foot paths. The Inn has parking for cars. The bar area has lots of character and real fires. The Inn stock a couple of beers draft but everything else comes from bottles. All the beers are from the Exmoor brewery. The evening meals were nice when available. Our twin room was clean and tidy.
The location was perfect for exploring Lynton. Our host Drew was very helpful in suggesting a nearby restaurant and booking a nearby restaurant. The breakfast was outstanding! We thought parking on the street would be a problem, but after 4pm, spaces conveniently opened up. The room was very comfortable with everything we needed.
Location was stunning facing the woodlands and with the sound of river Lyn / Lovely self contained flat, beautiful terrace, very well furnished, easy to walk to Lynton or Lynmouth. Bonus: they even had a bottle of wine for guests. Michelle and Lee are stunning hosts. Great holiday we had.
location is superb, easy access to the coast path and an easy drive to Exmoor. Breakfast was great, excellent quality. As a vegetarian who dislikes meat substitute products I often find problems when eating out, but not at Longmead House. The best breakfast I've had when away for years.
We have stayed many times in Lynton, a favourite area for us.
Staff at The Crown were friendly & courteous, with a perfect location for exploring North Devon and spending time in delightful Lynton & Lynmouth. Food was excellent, both breakfast and evening meal.
Chris and Lesley model hosts. Very welcoming and attentive to our every need. Room was spotlessly clean. The property is nestled towards the end of a very quiet lane and perfectly situated for exploring the N. Devon coast.
Ness and Phil are wonderful hosts, lots of choice for breakfast that was all lovely. The location is ideal for exploring both Lynton and Lynmouth. Beds were very comfortable and the house was very clean and welcoming.
The location was perfect for our walking trips. Quiet and tranquil. The room and breakfast were excellent! The host was very helpful and told us about the ongoing activities and events in Lynton and Lynmouth.
Friendly staff on arrival and attentive to our needs with a dog. Let us have dinner in the hotel despite being late. Great location for SW coastal path and for exploring lynton and lynmouth.
Breakfast was excellent. Interesting experience navigating to the hotel but once there secure parking. I did not need to move car once arrived as could walk to where we wanted to go.
