Best Western Lamphey Court Hotel and Spa Very good 8.2 The upgraded delux room was beautiful and contained everything we needed. The staff were friendly and couldn't do enough for you. We had a lovely relaxing morning in the spa followed by a treatment. The breakfasts and evening meal were delicious and very good value for money. We will definitely stay there again.
Lamphey Hall Hotel Fabulous 8.7 I have stayed here several times now and it never fails to impress. The staff are excellent, food is superb. Quiet location with easy access to Pembroke and Tenby.
North Down Farm Superb 9 I loved the apparent remoteness of North Down Farm, as it is a fair way toward the end of Wales but so close to 'civilisation' that you are not lacking for anything (you can see the night-time streetlamps of Pembroke from the front bedroom window). The views are lovely, rolling fields and hedges and you can tell the sea is just 'over there' by the cloud formations and light in the evenings. Tessa is lovely and smiley and very friendly, and the breakfast is of course great - not the full English as others have said, but plenty of choice, yoghurts, pastries, croissants, toast and lots of spreads, cereals, porridge, fruit, juice, coffee, tea etc. The room was a great size, tv worked and had all the channels, some DVDs to choose from downstairs too, and the bed was huge and high - my partner is not a statuesque thing by any means and it was funny watching her vault in each night. Ok a bit of an exaggeration but the bed was lovely and soft and very spacious and warm - we were there November 2nd - 5th so it was a bit chilly out (although the heating came on like clockwork). The bathroom was a good size and clean, the shower was an over-the-bath one and had good pressure, although a smidge on the warm side and not hot,- however we had a bath and that was piping hot so hot water is definitely not an issue, perhaps just a pipe feed problem / peculiarity. The owners have a photo journal of the restoration project in the breakfast area, Tessa said it took 5 years to convert and restore the old buildings into what you see today, and they've been going for a year now. You can buy huge fresh eggs and other veg from the front porch when you leave too. When we were there it was the time of the high winds the week after the storm everyone got warned about, and it was great to sit in the large bay window of the bedroom sipping tea that had brewed in a pot (tea and coffee in your room, ample supplies) watching the clouds race by.
