YHA Penzance Very good 8.4 YHA Penzance is an excellently run facility. The staff are efficient, informative and forever helpful and polite. My 16 year old son and I stayed there for three nights and had a most delightful time. Thanks Natalie and especially to Nuala for her calm and kind effeciency. Marty Dwan. Ireland
Artist Residence, Penzance Wonderful 9 We loved the fact that we had the option of cooking as well as a full breakfast. The price for this apartment was less than renting two bed and breakfast rooms, as we did the night before. Not only were we able to be in the same location, but we had a comfortable living area, great views, and they even brought us a fan!
Trereife House, Penzance Excellent 8.8 Beautiful, peaceful house, splendid breakfast, really comfortable bed and wonderful hosts.
The Queens Hotel, Penzance Good 7.4 Everything! If possible get a seaview room which is very large and has breathtaking views over the bay. The seawalk is right outside the hotel and people are strolling up and down all day. The breakfast room/dining room also overlooks the bay. Parking is included and is immediately behind the hotel. There is a chair lift for the stairs up from the parking but it is tempermental. I found it better to walk around to the front. The staff will gladly assist with luggage from your car if asked. Our room was huge and lovely with two chairs at a huge bay window where we had coffee every morning. There is a lift, a nice quiet pub, a beautiful front facing (bay view) sunroom where you can have tea or just chat. It is a gracious, beautiful place. Walking into town would be difficult for me due to the hills but a taxi can deposit you in minutes which is preferable to finding parking downtown. We walked to the Navy Pub and had a lovely meal. The food in the hotel was lovely, also - breakfast and dinner. It is a 15 minute easy drive to Land's End and St Michael's Mount which can also be viewed from the hotel. We spent a lovely three days and wished we could have stayed longer. Free wifi is available on the first floor only due to the age of the hotel and the very thick walls. We did not find that an issue - the charm of the Queens Hotel more than makes up the difference. It is a wonderful place to chat with other travelers, read a book, relax. I would recommend it highly.
Ashton Guest House, Penzance Wonderful 9.2 We have appreciated the welcome by our hosts, and the conversations they accept to have with their visitors. The en-suite is perfect in comfort and volume, and calm, and Judith's breakfasts are a marvelous beginning for the day to come . Bernard and Jacqueline, Le Perray-en-Yvelines
Abbey Hotel, Penzance Wonderful 9.2 Our expectations were more than met. The hotel reflects unchanging values of service, comfort, charm, and romance. It provides an ideal base for exploring West Cornwall at any time of the year. My wife and I definitely want to go back.
Mount Haven Hotel, Penzance Wonderful 9 Amazing location, will use the Mount Haven again next time I am in Cornwall. Excellent breakfast.
