Comfortable beds we had a great night’s sleep. Even though the room was not en suite the toilets were opposite the room so it wasn’t so bad. The staff were fantastic there was a lady called Emily who went above and beyond, offered to come over and let me in the front door even if the pub was shut.

Friendly staff , reasonable size room. A dog bed was supplied ,which a first......meant we had less to take in with us,also easy to walk straight from the door early mornings. 3 village greens, two pubs, Rose and Crown excellent.

3 village greens, two pubs, Rose and Crown excellent. Church old and some interesting features. Near High and Low force waterfalls. Barnard Castle and Middleton on Tees both interesting and nearby. Middleton has the most bizzare statue I have ever seen. Looks like Cupid being attacked by 4 crocodiles!
