Your typical seaside resort at the beachfront- loads to to, amusements, land train, donkey rode, good restaurants! Beach is flat, shallow and shady- perfect for kiddies!!
Harbour area is more cosmopolitan and beautiful, upper market cafes and pubs… really stunning views.
The town itself is a bit rough, with closed down shops etc. But all the shops you’d need! A lot of tourtisty shops to keep you browsing happily!

We enjoyed a walk around Weymouth and the surrounding areas.
We enjoyed a walk around Weymouth and the surrounding areas.
We did the "White Horse" walk from Sutton Poyntz, just outside Weymouth and went on to see the stunning coastline at Durdle Door.
The Isle of Portland was also worth a visit. It was March and too blustery and wet to do a decent walk but the vies at Portland Bill and of Chessil Beach was well worth a visit.
30 minutes from Weymouth, we visited West Bay with another nice coastline and a very interesting Custom House in the village which had a wealth of memorabilia for sale.

We only stayed for 2 nights however found Weymouth to be a fairly nice seaside town that feels like it's 'on the up' with lots of boutique shops and cafes as well as some lovely places to eat. It's also a great place to base yourself for exploring Dorset with Lulworth Cove, Durdle Door and Ringstead bay to the East and the Jurassic coast to the West.

Lovely place, the harbour has been pedestrianised with really nice fish restaurants with views of the harbour while you dine outside. More fishing boats here now to service them. A great place to watch people & boats go by while you drink or eat
Beach is mostly sandy & great for dogs to exercise

Weymouth has a lot to offer visitors.
Weymouth has a lot to offer visitors. A lovely wide and sandy main beach, where you can walk all the way along to Bowleaze cove, another nice spot (pebble beach) but quieter.
Brewers Quay is great to wander around, plenty of cafes and restaurants and again you can walk to North Fort which looks out to Portland.
Sandsfoot Castle and beach is a nice place to visit in the summer.

We loved that our room was or felt out of the way.
We loved that our room was or felt out of the way.
Our view was lovely .
The hosts were friendly, helpful and genuine.
Location is a Stone throw away. Ideal location to pubs, shops, arcades and pavilion.
Just a short walk to the train station.
The hotel is located on the beachfront, which was the main reason we chose it. It is a beautiful old building, but it's evident that it has seen better days. Overall, it was clean and well-maintained, but some renovations are definitely needed. The breakfast was good, although it lacked any vegan options. During our visit in late May, the majority of guests were pensioners who were enjoying their holiday in Weymouth. Despite these minor drawbacks, we were satisfied with what we received during our one-night stay
Free parking at the hotel. On a quiet street but not far from the centre. Easy check in, clean and comfortable room if a little basic. Travelling with 3 children so they were happy once TV was figured out.
Nice pool suitable for families as the deep part is only 1.2 m deep and there is a good sized shallow area as well.
Didn’t eat in the hotel so can’t comment on food.
Not that cheap but it is Weymouth in July and you can’t go abroad so happy with the price.
Everything is that bit nicer than it needs to be, we felt so well cared for. The refreshments tray has Fairtrade hot chocolate, speciality coffees and nice biscuits, with fresh milk in a fridge. The breakfast basket was superb and beautifully presented; a special mention to the fruit salad, what an amazing range of fruits! The location is perfect, just across from the quieter end of Weymouth beach. We had a fantastic stay. Thank you so much.
Maria is a wonderful host who keeps a spotless guesthouse and ensures breakfast is to your liking and is willing to give advice on what to do in and around Weymouth.
With parking at a premium in the area Maria ensures that with a little help from her guests everyone’s cars can be accommodated on site.
Situated at the west end of the promenade there are enjoyable strolls up to the town or along the beach to Bowleaze.
Great location. Couldn't believe how quiet it was, despite there being a pub/restaurant next door. Building was lovely and the room and bathroom were very well presented. Chickerell is a great jumping off point, for the centre of Weymouth + Portland, and the private, off road parking. is a fantastic bonus, given that many hotels/b&bs in Weymouth don't have access to this.
We loved the location and how close it was to all the main attractions in Weymouth. The room was amazing and the whole hotel was decorated to a very high standard, with nice finishing touches. Derek was a lovely host and really made the effort to make you feel welcome throughout our stay. The breakfast was really nice and we couldn't have asked for a better trip.
We really liked the room, everything was very simple
but we didn't lack anything
accommodation with everything you need
very clean and the owners are very friendly and welcoming people
We didn't enjoy breakfast but I'm sure it would be excellent
If I go back one day I will stay at this same hotel
I would recommend THE GRESHAM to anyone visiting Weymouth
First of all the owner Roger was very helpful and friendly.
I was travelling by my self so my small double room was perfect for me.
The room and en suite bathroom was very clean and comfortable.
the sea front is a short walk from the hotel the gardens were beautiful.
you can walk along the seafront to Weymouth town centre and harbour.
The hotel was recently remodeled with close attention to upgraded carpets/pads (quiet) and a comfortable bed. The room was equipped with an efficient portable cooling unit, and the color scheme provided a touch of class. Location was great. Management/owners made themselves readily available to any need you may have.
The location of the Riviera is second to none...but most of the reviews were bad...so we booked it to see what it was like..and it wasn't that bad..
The hotel needs a lot of work doing to it... but the room were clean and tidy but there was a slight odour...the breakfast was ok.
We would book this hotel again..
The whole hotel was excellent. Our 4 yr old granddaughter, Emily, loved her bed. Tommy, our black labrador, enjoyed the lift and running around the beach!
The sea view was impressive. Breakfast was good. The barman was very helpful. All the receptionists were excellent and very friendly. We'll be back soon.
Room was quite small and old fashioned. Breakfast very good, cooked fresh and served by very pleasant staff. Location on seafront was perfect.
Too much emphasis on ‘keeping us all safe’ .... pretty sick of all this nonsense now.
Hotel was pretty basic but considering the price paid did not meet expectations.
the apartment was perfect for our 5 night stay and much better than a hotel. it had everything we needed. was the perfect location in Weymouth and only a 5 minute walk from the car park with permit provided. we didn’t want to leave and would definitely go back
Great location, within walking distance to beach & all main Weymouth attractions. Just next to the harbour so lots of restaurants and bars close by. Well equipped kitchen with everything you need to cook/cater for a family. Very clean. Had a great stay.
Perfect location to explore Weymouth and the surrounding area. Hosts sent instruction to get keys, and also provided useful information on parking, and their facilties (WiFi, TV channels).
We loved the view
Melaney the owner was lovely
