Lovely upgraded room and goodies as guest of the day - thank you! Excellent gym. Dinner was good if a bit pricey.
Nice breakfast. Comfortable bed but nicer pillows would have been good.

We needed to check-in as early as possible so we could attend a wedding. I'd emailed beforehand and the staff had gone out of their way to turn around our room so we could have access when we arrived. It was a large, well appointed room with an ensuite incorporating both a jacuzzi bath and an excellent powerful shower. It was clean and tidy, if a little care-worn, but the bed was exceptionally comfortable, with high thread count bedding and fluffy towels and they get my vote because a teapot was provided. ☺️

Size and comfort of room, Great friendly staff, Quality of food both at Dinner & Breakfast was superb. Normally we would stay at one of national chains that Sir Lenny Henry advertises (PI) but this is definitely worth the little extra £. Restaurant is good value for money for the quality and quantity of food received along with superb service. ***No service charges or table charges which is a pleasant surprise nowadays*** enable us to choose to leave a good tip which we did.

On arrival we were met with an immediate issue as we were due to attend a wedding and there were no rooms reserved for us despite us booking in January. The hotel was full. The hotel staff and team there managed to sort the situation and arranged alternative accommodation at another hotel. Exceptional performance under an incredibly difficult situation.

Breakfast was great, for what it was. Not a fan of Full English Breakfast. But when in England you got to have it once. Sausages were really good.

The information posted about the Abbey and its construction was very interesting. It rained the entire time we were there, which was very disappointing, as the landscape is beautiful & we were unable to fully enjoy it.

Tranquil, historic abbey , much in ruins but surrounded by gardens and set alongside the River Calder. Reception rooms spacious and historic - you may well rub shoulders with senior clerics who use this location for retreats and workshops

I did not realise that i was staying in a working abbey.
I did not realise that i was staying in a working abbey. This was my fault.
Although the wording was Whalley Abbey Hotel
My husband said he heard singing at around 6.30 am
or was he dreaming?
The room was very clean and comfortable with a lovely view
Breakfast was in a large refectory and was very good but it had to be 8.30 am
I enjoyed the peacefulness and the tranquility and the beauty of the ruined abbey. i guess it may seem a little spooky to some

Whalley is a great base for visiting the Ribble Valley.
Whalley is a great base for visiting the Ribble Valley. Surrounded by lovely countryside. Has a rail link which I used several times. Good bus services through the village if not travelling by car. Good restaurants & a fish & chip shop.
The house was stunning and furnished beautifully and well equipped with everything and more that we needed.
The beds were very comfortable and had high quality bedding.
The location of the house was great, right near The Eagle pub where we had tea one evening. Whalley was a lovely 20 minute walk away.
It was located off the main road on a private driveway amongst trees and was very very quiet.
It was just perfect, we really enjoyed our stay.
Our stay at the cottage was very comfortable - could not have been better!
Well furnished to a high standard and fully equipped- we felt very much at home there.
Beds and towels changed and a clean half way through our stay was a welcome touch.
Local amenities all close by and great transport links make Whalley a good base for exploring the beautiful Ribble Valley area.
Highly recommended.
Fabulous cottage in beautiful Whalley. We visited to spend time with our son and his girlfriend and will definitely be returning.
Spotlessly clean, perfect location and beautifully decorated. Communications with Lucy were spot on and I would definitely recommend anyone to visit. Thank you so much, Lucy. You should be really proud of your cottage!
The location was perfect for us as we were visiting some of my partners family in Whalley and it was walking distance from everything we needed.
The house was lovely and clean, perfect for the 4 of us. Kitchen was well equipped. Check in was very easy as communication was great.
We would definitely stay here again upon our next visit.
Lovely location, within 3min walk into town (which was pretty upmarket and busy).
The hotel is literally in the old abbey buildings and is full of historic features, paneling everywhere and stone work any stonemason would be proud of. Staff very helpful, I was in the room 3 hours early.
What a beautiful cottage!
Everything you would need decor quirky and comfortable.
Ideally placed near the centre of whalley.
Bedroom large with great comfortable bed.
Very friendly place
Owner very responsive to any questions

Excellent breakfast, friendly staff and great location. Incidentally very good WiFi. Whalley is a busy village with lots going on, besides walking in the Abbey grounds.
