Breakfast was cold buffet with good selection!
Room was very comfortable
On the outskirts of Yeovil, in scenic Somerset, the family-run Preston Hotel offers elegant rooms with free Wi-Fi. The Victorian hotel enjoys an elevated position and also has an ale bar.

It was a decent sized room, larger than a Travelodge, for example.
Set in the picturesque village of East Coker, this charming 15th century inn provides the ideal base from which to explore the Heritage South Coast, including Dorchester, Glastonbury and Bath.

Beautiful old pub full of charm and original features. Excellent dinners. Bedroom was beautiful and full of character. Bed was extremely comfortable. Bathroom was spotlessly clean.
The Masons Arms is located in the beautiful Somerset countryside, 10 minutes’ drive from Yeovil. This charming property has a thatched roof and a stone façade, looking onto a lovely garden.

Room clean & comfortable, well thought out.
Pub had good atmosphere.
Staff helpful & friendly.
Situation excellent.
Yeovil looks as though it has had the guts ripped out of it.
Yeovil looks as though it has had the guts ripped out of it. At the top of town there are a lot of empty and semi-derelict retail properties. The area in the middle is apparently undergoing renovation but again has a large number of empty and derelict properties, including an entire shopping mall. Out of 9 properties in Middle Street, 7 were Betting Shops or Charity shops. Early Sunday morning shows the unfortunate "dwellers" in the town centre- hardly an advert for "come and visit". This is a sad indictment on both Yeovil and society in general.
I would add however that the A&E Department at the Hospital were excellent - full marks.

Sadly, Yeovil town centre is awful.
Sadly, Yeovil town centre is awful. Around half the shops are boarded up/closed down and most of the pedestrianised area is fenced off due to works that have been "in progress" for about 4 years (according to locals). Whilst there might be pleasant areas within the town, there were none to be found right in the central shopping district.

Nice area but Yeovil was busier than I expected.

Lovely country park but car parking signs were extremely hard to follow or even see / spot once in Yeovil. This could have been due to road works within the town. However, don't let this put you off visiting the country park as it is a liitle gem pratically within the centre of town.

Roadworks in the town made getting around difficult.

Yeovil is fairly central in the west country and one can go in all directions from the Boho flat….very convenient. Yeovil isn’t a pretty town .
Some very good Italian restaurants and other places to eat.

Found the shopping centre a bit dull.
Found the shopping centre a bit dull. Covid has damaged the area, with many empty shops. Hilly, be prepared for a hike.
Many pubs to visit and enjoy a carvery, ploughman’s or just an ale amongst the locals.
The lady at reception on Saturday (6 November) for check-in was extremely helpful, polite, friendly and welcoming.
The (different) lady at check out on Sunday morning was equally charming and helpful.
The hotel was perfectly situated being close to the centre of Yeovil. My room and bathroom were both very clean. The room and bed comfortable.
Staff great and very helpful, hotel itself was well located in town, parking good and breakfast in tghe morning great, overall quite happy with what we were provided with.
Property itself is quite historic and clearly has a popular clientele along with a really pleasant atmosphere.
Excellent location for the town centre. The staff were extremely helpful.
The accessible room was just what I needed.
I'd recommend it as a good value place to explore Somerset.
It’s clean and tidy and staff, when they’re there, are very pleasant. TV was a reasonable size and has a decent range of channels. It’s a half-hour walk from the town centre
Lovely place to stay, comfy, very well done out with everything you need. One of the best I’ve stayed in for the price in Yeovil. Wish I’d found it sooner!
