Amoudara has one main street where all the shops and restaurants are and that's pretty much it. You take any side streets and you'll end up in one of the neighboring settlements. The place feels neglected and doesn't look pretty. From half-finished, deserted buildings with lots of junk nearby, to overgrown shrubs and trees, which you have to avoid by ducking or walking into the street sometimes, which doesn't make it very safe. There's also a power plant nearby which really takes away from the overall impression. During the first couple of days of my stay, there was some unpleasant smell in the air, not sure if it was the power plant or some other reason, but it was really awful. The beach is great as long as it's not windy but, unfortunately, it usually is.Milana - 10Scored 10

Enorme Teatro Beach exceeded my expectations! Our fiance and I went there to exchange our vows on the beach. It was our first time in Crete... From the very first day of the online booking till the very last day at the hotel the staff were always helpful, making sure we had everything we need (taxis, dinner, photographer, answering our questions...). The swim-up option in our room was beyond what I imagined. Also he food is quite exceptional!! A really nice cosy hotel - Some small things have space for improvement, but maybe this makes exactly the atmosphere. The breakfast buffet is extraordinary ! But the biggest asset of this hotel, is the team - and I mean the whole team including the lady taking care about cleaning ! If I would decide for Ammoudara/Heraklion again, I definitely would come back to this hotel !GabrielaAustria

The local restaurants and shops are walking distance from the hotel. The beach in front of the hotel is clean and has many umbrellas and sun beds which are free to use if you order a drink. Our room was spacious and very clean. The view from our room was breathtaking because it was facing the sea . The sound of the waves from our balcony was very relaxing. Maria is very friendly and helpful and she made every effort to make our stay there wonderful.

Hotel staff talked English- even helped us with plane tickets. Nikolas apartments have really nice and good size pool. So it was really perfect place to spend sunny holiday. We Estonians adored that place. Hopefully next year we can use the same place.

The room was clean bright with a new the kitchen comprised of cupboards, sink, microwave, and refrigerator.. The terrace had a beach view and a table with chairs to enjoy the sea air. We enjoyed the breakfast which could be taken indoors or outdoors in the garden. We would choose to stay here again.
