Good pedestrianized streets through the main shopping area make it easy to walk around and some excellent restaurants including Mama Maria's by the port made our evenings really special. Pigadia town is ugly.
Pigadia town is ugly. There are other villages that are really nice but have become very tourist-oriented (Olympos village). Really nice beaches but some hard to reach by car (a few km off the main road with poor quality roads leading there). Not really good service at beaches and no carbage collectors to leave carbage when leaving the beach Olympos is a fantastic village, a MUST for anyone visiting Karpathos. Great place to visit if you want to spend most of your day in spectacular beaches. If you are like me and are in need of other activities too, including archeological sites, museums, cultural events, etc. then the island has relatively little to offer. Amazing Greece island with many beautiful beaches.
Amazing Greece island with many beautiful beaches. Local food was also amazing and people were very nice wherever we went. If you are visiting this island, you must see Olympus village.
