Katakolon is the main port for cruise liners where guests are visiting Olympia and seems geared up largely for this purpose. It is quite a pleasant seaside town but nothing exceptional. When we were there there were no cruise ships in port and it was very quiet. All of the seafront restaurants and bars were open so we had our pick, but a lot of the shops were close for most of the time we were there.
Olympia is about a 30 minute drive from here.

Small city with port for big ship.
Small city with port for big ship. Worth visiting for few days. Close to nice beaches. Shops with beautiful clothes and other things (mostly not cheap, but you can find good deals). Good starting point to Olympia.

The town felt strange to us as it appears to only be set up for cruise ship customers. We did have a great lunch there ( Filia ) the first day but found once the cruise ship left almost everything closed in the town. The second day there was a significant storm and everything remained closed for the day as cruise ship customers did not disembark. There was only one restaurant open for lunch and it was a mediocre very overpriced meal.

We stayed there rather than at Olympia to be near the beach.
We stayed there rather than at Olympia to be near the beach. We did go to the beach and the water was amazing. But the beach itself was full of tire tracks.
The village receives huge cruise ships bound for Olympia and it is one strip of souvenir shops swamped with tourists.
I think we would have been better at Olympia.
Katakolon was a port on our Viking Cruise. We booked a room here at PHEIA instead of going on an expensive cruise excursion. It was so worth it. The hotel is so stylish and the staff is very welcoming and friendly. Great pool. Nice bar. Steps to the beach and the sea. There are beach bars to the left and right as well. It was like being at a beach resort for the day. Everything was very reasonable. It's just a short cab ride from the cruise port. Everyone on the cruise was jealous of our plan.
The best part of this hotel is the view, the location and pool. The photos don’t do the hotel justice, the view and facilities are 100 times better than the photos. You will be wowed. Just, have a little grace as they are finishing up their renovations and additions.
You don’t have to leave the hotel. They have a restaurant, pool, beach, bar, cafe, music etc. You want to book here, to stay here. The town is just a short 4 mins drive.
The location, up on a hill, a stunning view of harbour.
Close to tavernas, stores. The Host Christina was so friendly and kind,
a jewel of a place and host. Will come back. Great breakfast and view from
Breakfast room stunning. Bar is beautiful in hotel , and music playing
gave it a classy touch. SoftbJazz, smooth music. Panagiota from Montreal Canada
This was an absolutely fantastic hotel. Location was excellent, on the beach, with lovely beach chairs and umbrellas set up. Pool was beautiful. But most important staff was truly excellent - hospitable, friendly, doing everything to make us comfortable - including preparing special meals for our needs!
We really enjoyed our stay at Villa Georgina. We stayed 2 days to visit Olympia and Katakolo.
Rooms are charming and very comfortable. The garden is beautiful and the swimming pool was well appreciated by our kids.
The owner is really kind and helpfull.
The home made breakfast is very good
Wonderful breakfast with homemade sourdough and sourdough chocolate cake.
We stayed in the Attic room. Owner was friendly. It is a port town and thankfully we were there when the cruise ships were not at port. The hotel is centrally located. can walk to the harbor and harbor cafes.
Everybody was wonderful and helpful with any needs. Very clean and cosy.
Katakolo is a good spot to stay and explore the area by car.
Our apartment was right behind the loungearea, so it was not so private on the terrace and in the room with open windows as the other rooms.
the property absolutely suited our intended purpose. we die not intend to be in the hotel a lot. the room was neat and clean and had a little balcony where we could sit. there is no pool etc so not a family pool vacation. but for us it was ideal. .we were not plan
The house was excellent, large, clean, fully featured, perfectly placed. The host was very friendly and careful. The paddle board was a nice bonus. Very close to the Katakolo Port, where you can find several atractions. Kotsanas Museum very interesting too.
This was a gem amongst all the Greek hotels I have visited.. Modern, clean, comfortable beds and pillows, fresh linen.
We only stayed for 1 night, but did not want to leave. Great sea views as well. Quiet location and quiet rooms.
I absolutely recommend!
The room was modern, clean, quiet, and spacious. It looks like it was recently renovated. The view of the harbor from the balcony was amazing. Breakfast was very good. There is also a cafe/bar operating in the hotel. Easy parking in a parking lot.
The treatment from the sisters that manage the business was fantastic. They were really nice and helpful. The room was stunning at the level of a 5 star hotel. Thanks for everything
The location is splendid, the hotel is situated in a beautiful bay, with direct access to the beach. Waking up with a view like this was wonderful. The breakfast was very nice.
This hotel is simply OLD, OLD, OLD period. It needs to be modernized! It has NOT changed with the times! It was probably good in the 1960's but not in the year 2021.
Good hotel by the sea with great sunset views and large new swimming pool. Rooms a bit old in design. Good breakfast. Plenty of space to park car nearby.
