A small sea side village with sea front tavernas, a small supermarket that sold fresh bread and pasties daily as well as fruit & veg. A cafe near by, a place to hire canoes & SUP. The village is en route for the traveling veg & fruit trucks. Water is translucent and the bay is sheltered.

Chorto is a picturesque village by the sea , located in south Pelion From there you can explore and visit many beaches around Chorto but also more distantly located beaches in Pagasitikos Gulf and in the Aegean side of the area -Also , you can reach many beautiful villages by the sea and on the mountain . But.. even if you want to stay in Chorto and relax ,you can do so . Many good restaurants and Cafeterias, and also beautiful beaches within walking distance will do the job for you

Nice quiet place with pleasant view.

Nice quiet place with pleasant view. Not the cleanest place, but it could be much worse. Great WiFi. The only real problem is that the hosts speak only Greek. Also have in mind that the power sockets are old and standard schuko plug doesn't fit. Nice bathroom, comfortable kitchen box with nice fridge.

Chorto is a small fishing village on an inlet of the Aegean...

Chorto is a small fishing village on an inlet of the Aegean Sea. It is old, yet beautifully maintained with a local population that clearly loves the community and welcomes visitors. Right on the shore, there is easy access for swimming, snorkeling, or more ambitious water activities. We took a boat tour to a number of neighboring islands which included a visit to an ancient monastery, and participated in a choral concert directed by British conductor Timothy Brown in an ancient, yet renewed, ampitheatre an easy ten minute walk from our digs overlooking the beach. The village is small, well-maintained, and right on the water. It's an excellent and reasonable vacation spot for those who want to enjoy a look at Greece away from the cities, yet still see some interesting and ancient sights. It's also a welcoming place for children, who are able to enjoy supervised water play in the sea and the attentions of locals who, I am sure, have never seen a child they didn't proclaim to be beautiful! The entire village is easily walkable, with several restaurants and shops on the waterfront. To get there, you can take a bus from Athens to Volos. That's approximately four hours with a twenty minute comfort break approximately half-way. The ride is a wonderful sight-seeing adventure through the country-side, with views of the Adriatic on one side, hills and a wide variety of interesting homes and villages. From Volos, it's another bus (about one hour) to Chorto.

    We went in June.

We went in June. It was very quite till the Greek holiday weekend where it was a nice balance of people, good buz. Only two restaurants where open at the time, which did I fine for 7 days. Lafkos is a 15 minute drive away to enjoy some good mountain food. Taxis are available too. The bar in Chorto has comfy loungers you can enjoy a drink, drop you towels and have a dip. There are two shops. Leda resort in Chorto has an ATM machine. Casa Blanca, best place for breakfast, the owner is just lovely - I wish we also went there for a drinks in the evening, just not enough days.

The apartment was spacy, comfortable and well equipped. The bed was large and very comfortable. There was a nice patio with a cracking view of the sea where we could sit in the shade. The bar/restaurant is great with a good menu superbly cooked. The waitresses are lovely and friendly and can't do enough for you. The whole complex is very clean and well maintained. There's a really lovely swimming pool with plenty of sun beds. The hotel is perched above its own beach which is 2 minutes walk from the restaurant.

Stunning views. Gorgeous pool. Beautifully appointed villa. Christos & Eleni were exceptionally accommodating and helpful on our arrival and throughout our stay. The area is charming with some stunning beaches and excellent drives, along with a good selection of tavernas and cafes locally, both in Chorto and Milina. Enjoying nightly sundowners watching the sunset over the Pagasetic Gulf in the peace and quiet was a particular highlight. A very relaxing break which we look forward to repeating!

Location very close to the beaches which can be reached on foot or very easy by car. Apartment was fully equiped and lot of wonderful additionals makes you feel like in home (for instance, fresh flower in the vase) Shops and restaurants no more than 5 min walk.

The hotel complex is an amazing place, very clean and cozy, together with a beautiful garden and a wonderful private beach nearby, though the pebbles! The restaurant there offered delicious homemade meals, with herbs gathered from the garden. :) We had the perfect vacation there!

Perfect location close to the sea, in Chorto. Th owner, Mr. Thedorus, is the sweetest Greek man in the world, even if he doesn't speak a word of English. We managed to understand him using Google Translate.
