Hidden Paradise Cottages, Amed Very good 8.3 Location at the sea, garden, the cottage and its open bathroom.
Villa Aquamarine Wonderful 9.1 We stayed here from Dec.12-17th. We arrived late at night, around 8pm and was greeted by Wayan and Suri where we stayed at their brother villa Aquamarine Seaview for 1 nite, and the next day they moved us to Villa Aquamarine (which is just next door). We were welcomed by Sudi (the help; i don't like to call her a maid). Sudi is the best and help us cook almost any thing we want. We can order from their menu or we can tell her what we want to eat then she will buy the food and cook in the kitchen for us. We feel like home. The view and villa is just Awesome. I will definitely go back if I have a chance, God willing. Allen the owner was very helpful, call him if you need anything. There are many things to do in Amed; scuba, snorkel, fishing, canooing, rent a motorbike and enjoy the country side and village. I would highly recommend to bring some gift or charity to the villagers, they need them. I brought some school kits for the village students. They will enjoy them, God willing. All and all, everything were great, and did not want to leave. Love the place too much. To tell you the truth i cried a bit before i left. The place and people were awesome and wonderful. Thank you Allen, Wayan, Sudi, Suri, Medi (the gardener), wayan the fishsing guy and all the people of Amed. God bless and may God always be with you. Much love.
Bukit Indah Homestay, Amed Good 7.7 The couple who run the place are amazing. Our flight was really late and they waited up for us to make sure we could get in. They made sure we had everything we needed for our visit. One morning we were scheduled for an early morning dive, the couple went out of their way to make sure we had some food to take with us because we were leaving before breakfast.
Santai Hotel, Amed Very good 8.3 The location is ideal for snorkelers!! Coral and fish are 10 feet from shore.Restaurant food is gourmet with a huge menu. Great on site entertainment.Surroundings are magical - especially during the full moon. The staff were super friendly and helpful - in fact we gave them a "Best Staff" award upon our departure. This was our favorite place to stay in Bali, so we returned for a second stay with two of our honeymooning friends.
Good Karma Bungalows, Amed Good 7.2 Everything! Really excellent food available for all three meals a day in the lovely restaurant. Absolutely beautiful traditional individual houses each with mosquito nets they hang for you on arrival, and a hammock they put up on your deck, which is steps from the beach and has a full bed outside with hooks for your mosquito net if you want to sleep outside. (But sleeping inside is more or less like sleeping outside because the windows are huge and open and right by the beds.) Also on the deck are two really comfortable chairs and a coffee table where you'll find a thermos of hot water and cups for sweet tea set out for you by 6:00 am! The beach in front of the bungalows (a misnomer because many have a second floor loft area!) is lined with jukung, the traditional (though now also equipped with outboard motors) salling/fishing boats. Each house has a little outdoor shower made from bamboo (in addition to your private shower in the back of the house) for post-snorkeling and swimming. The house is beautifully made in all natural materials, as is the restaurant. If you happen to wake up between 3:00 and 4:00am you'll see the locals silently taking their boats out in the dark. The boats with their sails up will then dot the horizon for several hours, and they'll come back in around 8:30 bringing fresh fish for your lunch and dinners, bless them! There are lots of local people who have adopted the hotel and who are trustworthy and excellent snorkelling guides who will take you in one of the jukung out to the best (nearby) beach to see coral. They will act as guides and will rent out equipment as needed.
The Griya Villas and Spa, Amed Excellent 8.8 Absolutely beautiful place. From what my wife and I could tell, nicest place in Amed. You never have to leave but the area is so nice you will have too. Everything you could ever need is right in your room, kitchen, pool, living room, amazing outdoor bathroom. If you want calm, peace and quiet getaway, then this is the place. amazing snorkeling and scuba diving walking distance away.
Kembali Beach Bungalows Very good 8.4 Kembali Beach Bungalows was a great place to stay. The staff were all great and the room clean and comfortable. The view of my Batur from the beach for sunset is amazing and if you get up early you can watch the sunrise too. I'd definitely stay here again.
Manis Homestay Excellent 8.8 One of those nicest families I met in Indonesia. This family is so nice for you. Whenever I came back from my activity they would greet me with their lovely smiles and brought me fruit or a nice local snack. Room cleaned everyday and I did not had to ask for it (I traveled through indonesia for almost two months and this is really rare to see). Good wifi connection and Kadek is a great man who can help you with your problems. I love this family and if I ever go back to Amed again I will definitely stay with them again!
