We loved everything! The glass bubble and the hot tub outside are fantastic additions to this lovely cottage. Our host was very helpful and patience, response quick. We had the most amazing and memorable 3 nights here!

Reykholt is a nice little village on the golden circle.
Reykholt is a nice little village on the golden circle. It has a little grocery shop in the petrol station with hot dogs and ice cream. There are also the Mika and Friðheimar restaurants, both worth a visit. The outdoor swimming pool, playgrounds and sport facilities are fantastic for the kids. Take a short walk up to the top of the hill for some amazing views.

This is one of our favourite areas to book for weekends away from Reykjavík. We enjoy the local hikes, waterfalls (and also Restaurant Mika!). With Secret Lagoon nearby as well as the Golden Circle being within a short drive, there is plenty to do. This visit we also checked out the Hrunalaug hot springs which were fab!

The Restaurant Mika was a welcoming place, since we were traveling the Golden circle late and were worried we wouldn't have anything to eat before arriving at the amazing Blue Hotel Fagrilundur. We thought the restaurant would close at 9pm on the Monday night, but we saw they kept letting travellers in well past 9pm. And the food was wonderful! And they accommodated my partner's gluten and sugar intolerance so nicely, by even cooking the potatoes on a separate pan from the others.
We would come back to Reykholt and Restaurant Mika and the Blue Hotel again and stay longer!

Skálakot Hotel is gorgeous property with fantastic breakfast and dinners. Staff were wonderfully helpful and welcoming. Chef Robert makes excellent food with fresh local ingredients— lamb, fish, fresh vegetables. 7th generation Icelandic horse breeding and sheep farm. Great location in south Iceland on ring road—
Most amazing sweet home (this is 5b) in the middle of beautiful nowhere - right in the center of GOLDEN CIRCLE 🌈 Restaurant and small Supermarket / Minimart 6 Min nearby. The cottages are super clean and modern. Bed 🛌 is super cosy and Kitchen has everything like coffee, tea and oil to have your first meal ready 🍾 30 min to Gullfos Waterfall and Geysir 🌊. One of my best stay at guesthouse ever! Highly recommended. You’ll get code for gate and house 🏡 short before arrival. Easy!
This was off the beaten track and proved to be very welcoming and relaxing. We felt like guests in someone's home. It is not "upscale" but had everything we needed. Breakfast was included, comfy beds, friendly hosts, clean, quaint and somewhat quirky. Our host offered to make dinner reservations for us at a nearby restaurant, they had black out masks if we needed one (I did), and mostly the hosts just made us feel cared for and welcome. They had a pay laundry we could use.
What a beautiful house! Solveig, the host, was friendly and helpful. Everything was neat and clean. We were two very happy families, 4 adults and 2 children, and there was more than enough space for everyone. The house is well equipped and the jacuzzi and sauna were fantastic. Nice spot on the golden circle in the little village of Reykholt with its swimming pool, shop, restaurants, playgrounds, football pitches, greenhouses and more. Thank you!
Everything. I think I had the best stay of my life. The room and the toilets were clean. The house had good temperatures inside and the kitchen was really helpful. There is a hot tub as well so you can relax after a tiring day. The owner is one of the nicest person I have ever met. She always smiled and she allowed us to cancel two nights for free without hesitation. I'd definitely go back to this place if I'd be around that part of Iceland.
Large room with comfortable bed. Good facilities. Huge wet room was fab with a good shower and disabled friendly. The room was exceptionally clean and well presented. Use of the hot tubs was a bonus too! Would definitely book again should I be in the area.
At breakfast alternative milk and decaf coffee provided.
Value for money. We went for lower end of budget hotels for our trip this was above expectations and suited our needs well.
Location was near the Secret Lagoon. We were able to check in and then get to the Secret Lagoon before it closed. We. were also able to find a restaurant nearby for dinner. One of the smaller bedrooms had it's own sink which made it easier for our group to share the facilities. The owner met us outside upon arrival to give up our keys. 3 separate bedrooms (2 rooms with a double bed, one room with 2 singles).
Great cabin with all the utilities that you might ever need. It had a mini kitchenette which is helpful if you wanted to make something quick.
The hot tub was great. The hot tub was kept ready to be used. The views from the hot tub was not bad either.
The cabin is in an isolated location, so although you might not have anything accessible nearby, the cabin's location is serene and peaceful.
This is an easy in-and-out location while you travel around Iceland's south region. Don't be scared by the self-check-in. It's so convenient and I honestly wish U.S. accommodations would consider this. Great, comfy room and the games to play in the reception area. Do not miss out on the restaurant next door. Mika was fabulous! I had the chicken with risotto and it was impeccable!
The staff was responsive to my questions and the cabin was spotlessly clean and beautifully appointed. The cabin had an instruction placard that was helpful for the hot tub. One nice touch was that the bathroom included a heated drying rack. The view of the mountains and the town of Reykholt was stunning. We had an unforgettable experience.
The place is amazing! The unit is well maintained and clean. It has everything you could need and the hot tub was great! This was our second time renting this unit and would stay there every time we visit the area! The views in every direction are impossible to imagine! My favorite place to stay in Iceland!
Very cozy small cabine, located nearby Iceland's Golden Circle (some spots are only 20 minutes away). There is a small kitchen in the cabine you can use and a fridge for your groceries.
The contact with the owner is very good, they are friendly and give you some informations about the nicest spots around.
The pictures on Booking.com do not do this property justice. The house was incredibly adorable, and the views all around the property are spectacular. The hot tub was perfect for decompressing after a long day of hiking and exploring. This truly is a magical place to spend a few days of Iceland summer in.
The staff was very kind and helpful during my stay. Also the location is great if you want to give a break between driving around and enjoy the stillness of the beautiful nature of Iceland and Thingvellir National Park. Close to some good farm to table restaurants too!
Modern and comfortable accomodation near Geysir and gulfoss with far reaching views of beautiful Icelandic countryside. Easy to find but off the beaten track. Nearby shop, restaurant and wine bar and a few geothermal baths close by.
Best hotel we stayed in Iceland.
Everything was super nice, room , facilities, breakfast, everything
They even have two hot tubs in front of hotel and you can use it whenever you want. And was a good hot bath in the evening.
This stay marked our two first days in Iceland. Therefore, it was great to find it in such good shape. A good base for exploring popular spots nearby, such as Thingvellir, Geysir, and Gullfoss.
The check-in instructions were precise, the restaurant recommendations were great, and the cabin itself was fantastic! We even got to see the northern lights during our one night stay!
The owner was very friendly. Excellent facilities, the apartment was furnished to a very high standard. Good restaurant nearby. Would definitely recommend it.
