“Beautiful room with views of the waterfall and bay, bed comfortable. Share bathroom which was clean and very big dual shower. Able to use communal kitchen with excellent cooking facilities. Reception excellent gave excellent food/restaurant option and options for visiting local sites.”
“I gave excellent points to everything for Skalanes. The experience of staying there definitely is worth it. You have to be a nature lover to appreciate it. Skalanes is a charming restored farm house right by the sea side and is about 30 mins drive from the main town. Absolute tranquility. The hosts are excellent, friendly and warm welcoming. I call them hosts because they did make us feel like we are their real house guests. There was a kindergarten stay-over trip in the house during our stay. It was a pleasant surprise for us to spend some time with the children. We stayed there for two nights. It was a highlight of our trip to Iceland. Thank you, Yelle and Bjark, the lovely hosts of Skalanes; the teachers and the children.”
“- Fantastic view - Good Value - Big room and Good heating system - Clean place”
“Wonderfully comfortable family room in a 100 year old building recently renovated to a very high standard. Wonderfully friendly little town. Supermarket nearby and try the local bistro and bar.”
“The room was clean, comfortable and very quiet. The staff was great.”
“It was our first hostel experience. Which we greatly enjoyed. The staff was very helpful and prepared and served and excellent breakfast. It does't look like much from the outside, but it has been smartly renovated within. It also has a laundry facility.”
“The cottage was beautifully appointed and had very authentic homely Icelandic touches. It was very clean, linen so crisp. Comfortable bed. Beautiful spacious bathroom. Magical views of the mountains around Seydisfjordur from every window. Warm, cosy and inviting. A perfect Christmas retreat or a warm home to come to after a long winters drive through Iceland.”
“We loved everything about this place! The walls may be a little thin but the rooms, linen and beds are comfortable and clean. We actually got snowed in an extra night here and the owners were very accommodating and even gave us a little discount on our extra night which was very kind of them. We even got to celebrate one of their birthdays with homemade Icelandic cake which was amazing! Highly recommend staying here!”
“Lovely location. Nice, spotlessly clean room with an amazing, comfortable bed, good en suite facilities and a view of the river. Tea/coffee making facilities available. We were fortunate to meet the family who own the house and who were extremely friendly and informative. Excellent, reasonably priced dinner at the Kaffi Lara across the bridge. Highly recommended.”
“I've stayed at Hótel Aldan on three occasions - all out of season - and each stay has been exceptional. The owner has clearly put a lot of care into every aspect of the hotel. I look forward to returning to Hótel Aldan and to Seyðisfjörður.”
“Hotel Aldan is the first building you see as you enter Seydisfjurdur. Its a lovely hotel in an idyllic location. Loved all of it!”
“This hotel was very nice, we just loved out cozy room. The breakfast was the best we had from all our hotel stays in Iceland.”
“Hotel Aldan lives up to it's reputation as the jewel of the East Fjords. The hotel room was very charming, with quaint decor and a very comfortable bed. The restaurant was truly excellent with their cod dish among the best we've had in our trip. The lodgings are not inexpensive, but worth the expense if your budget allows. Highly recommended.”
“Lovely room, breakfast was not good. Most expensive hotel stated in during whole trip to iceland. Overpriced”
