The location of the villa was very convenient to visiting Florence and then come back to relax. The grounds of the villa were amazing. We loved the pool and the grassy area in front. Maximo and Gaia were so nice and helpful. The rest of the staff were very friendly. We loved the outdoor dinning there too. Very delicious. There was plenty of parking and it was very quiet.

Breakfast was very nice, with a good variety of choices. The restaurant was a big disappointment. Weird "gourmet" menu.
The isolated location of the borgo forces guests to be captive. Aperitifs were over priced. Bar staff music selection was offensive Rap on one evening.

During my stay at the hotel, I found the rooms to be styled in an outdated manner, which I didn’t particularly enjoy. However, the staff were generally pleasant, especially Lisa. I appreciated their prompt provision of an iron and ironing board when we requested them. However, I was disappointed by the lack of recognition for our honeymoon. A complimentary gesture, such as a room upgrade or a bottle of wine, would have been appreciated. On the plus side, the hotel’s location is excellent, very close to major attractions, the WiFi was reliable, and the breakfast was decent. Overall, my experience was good.

Beautiful town just outside of Florence that gives you a great experience of the country-side. Great for walking or cycling and soaking in the peace and tranquility. Pick this town for your stay if you want to enjoy a mix of the city(Florence) and country-side(Bagno a Ripoli). It is well connected to Florence by buses (10 mins away). Taxis from Florence also cover this town.
Villa la massa was amazing, the staff went above and beyond with their level of service. The restaurants were both very good, breakfast each morning overlooking the river was fabulous. The spa therapist gave a wonderful massage and facial. The chef came out each day to ask everyone if they enjoyed their meal. The hotel rooms are gorgeous, the bathrooms were spacious, everywhere is absolutely spotless. The pool area was very well maintained, always someone to get you water, a towel. All the staff were just so friendly.
Beautiful gardens, jacuzzi with views, amazing breakfast with local produce and always freshly made! The room fridge was filled and included in the price of the room which was a very nice touch and something I’ve not seen often. Property is close to Florence and provides easy access by car to towns like San Gimignano and Siena.
Best stay we have had in Italy hands down! Host was incredibly accommodating and attentive. We would highly recommend and hopefully will visit again.
It was my first time at a 5 star hotel and it was wonderful. We had a stressful travel day and the hotel helped ease the tension. The grounds were beautiful, breakfast was amazing. We got a little workout done in the gym and felt refreshed leaving. The bartender was great and made wonderful drinks. The food from the restaurant, although a little pricey, was good.
Convenient for 1 night. The hotel is 10 minutes away by car from the port, convenient for relaxing after arriving by ferry to Livorno. A small hotel on the outskirts of the city, there is a Parking space. Friendly host. The room is clean and cozy. On the 1st floor there is a vending machine with drinks and snacks. The breakfast is served in a nearby cafe.
Great location, very charming villa&buildings and park area for wonderful leisure time in the sun or under the many old trees. 20 minutes with hotel shuttle to Florence; amazing garden & pool area, with a wonderful view over the Arno river. We stayed in a very comfortable apartment, very nicely designed.
The overall atmosphere of Hotel is fantastic! Beautiful nature views, distant views of Florence, unforgettable sunsets and insta-food specialties. The staffs are very friendly and attentive. If you're tired of city life, come here to experience the comforts of nature and meet people from all over.
Tomaso was a generous and gracious host. We were so well looked after. Great room, well located, fabulous breakfast....nothing was too much trouble. We've been travelling Italy for the past month staying at various places and this was one of the best. Thank you for a lovely stay.
Beautiful hotel in a lovely location. The staff were super friendly and nothing was too much trouble. Easily one of the best hotels I have ever stayed in. Sitting by the pool with a refreshing glass of Chardonnay in the late Tuscan sun is as close to perfection that you can get
The room was amazing and large. At least 12foot ceilings, matching tasteful furniture, reflecting the old villa nature of the hotel. Everything I expected for a hotel in such a famous area. The pool was great, breakfast was fresh, clean and very good.
Location and hotel was brilliant if you want to get away and just stay on site. Room was big and clean. The pool area was amazing and the background music made the vibe really chilled. Breakfast was really good. Will be going back!
Amazing place, feels like you’re in history. Views are amazing, clean rooms, good food made by the owner and nice talks about Italy and its history in the evenings :). Beds were also good, quit in the night, so good sleeps :)
Every detail of Villa La Massa was absolutely perfect! I cannot explain our love for this exquisite hotel-
The staff, the grounds, the food
