Location and staff
I would advise asking reception to book your dinners upon arrival as the local restaurants aren’t open every night and get fully booked. We ended up eating at the same place 2 nights running which was a shame as we were only there 2 nights.

The location is a bit out of the way, but a pleasant downhill walk into town. The staff is lovely and accommodating, and communicates well, whichever the language. I had a wonderful view from my balcony, and the room was clean & comfortable. Breakfast and dinner were great - homemade pasta was a highlight. And Paolo offered to meet me at the Ferry dock with my luggage, so I could make another excursion unencumbered. Way above & beyond the call of duty!

Absolutely amazing. Located right by the ferry so you can easily get to Bellagio and Verrena. Friendly staff, nice toiletries, and a wonderful breakfast. The Croissants were to die for. We had a beautiful window view of the lake. Overall, Bellismo.

Mennagio was a lovely little town with fab links to Varenna and Bellagio (we day-tripped). Hired a boat from AC boats which I recommend as it was decently priced :) Cafe del Pas in the square does the best aperol spritz’s! We found food and drink to be very decently priced (e.g. could get a pizza for €10 and a glass of wine for €5), especially compared to the nearby more famous villages

Menaggio is a beautiful town and we loved that is was much quieter than Bellagio which is over run with tourists. We went swimming in the lake at the local beach, enjoyed walks up into the hills behind the town and walks along the promenade. There are lots of places to eat out or enjoy an Aperitif, but we also enjoyed making a picnic and eating lakeside. You can easily catch a ferry to visit other towns or hire a boat and go on your own adventure. We caught the ferry from Como. The fast ferry is not always easy to get a ticket for and the slow ferry takes over 2 hours. We later realised we could have caught the train to Varenna from Milan and then caught a quick ferry to Menaggio.

Menaggio is stunning and very clean. Our accommodation was in an excellent, comfortable apartment with all the facilities you need as a traveller - fully equipped kitchen, washing machine, comfortable beds and walk in shower. It was next to the ferry terminal so we could hop on a ferry to different parts of Lake Como. Our apartment was on the flat area in Menaggio, close to the centre, restaurants and supermarkets, making it easy to get to places. There is a reasonable local bus service to that we used to go to other villages and markets. Taxis are not great or easy to get and for much of the accommodation there you need to be prepared for some steep walks up and down each day.

Menaggio is a beautiful town, about midway up Lake Como, in one of the best regions. An easy town to navigate without too many steep levels with plenty of excellent restaurants and cafes. Not too many retail shops, and a good selection of nice hotels. The ferry connects to other towns around the lake.

With a balcony looking over a cute Italian square with lake Como in the background. Chiara was a wonderful host, always there to answer your questions and check in- and out were super easy. The room was cozy with exceptional lake views, we appreciated fast check-in and parking space because parking around the lake might be a nightmare especially during high season. The only thing we didn´t like was the food served for a dinner in the hotel restaurant. It was not even average and you definitely expect much more when you´re in Italy so next time I would dine outside the hotel.

Gorgeous view from the balcony, close to Menaggio only 15-20 flat walking distance that includes amazing views of the lake during the walk and most important close to the ferry that makes it very very easy to visit Bellagio, Varenna and all other lake Como destinations, and last but not least the woman at reception was very lovely and helpful !
