Hotels that guests love in Siena

  • B&B Le Camere di Livia is right in the heart of beautiful Siena. A few-minute-walk from all major sights in this extraordinary place! Morgana's hospitality and kindness and willingness to help (always with a smile) made our stay memorable. If you seek luxury and impersonal service pick a different place...

    Christina, Group from Greece
  • It is a nh standard hotel. No extra luxury. It is ok to stay here and visit the town.

    Young couple from Portugal
  • We stayed one night in this hotel, it's a little bit outside Siena, but 20 min walking brings you in the city centre and no hassle with parking. But for a one night it was ok, breakfast was also good.

    Mathias, Group from Germany
  • The staff was very helpful to help with directions to downtown Siena. It is really easy to go by bus (bus stop is in front of the hotel) or by car. It is a 5 minute drive and the staff gave us instructions to free parking spots! Breakfast was very good, typical italian with "cornetti", cakes, ham, chesse, jams, and as many cappuccinos/coffee you can have.

    Alexandre, Young couple from Brazil
  • The room was impeccably clean. Breakfast was like a 5 stars hotel: bread, cheese, cereals, homemade cakes, tea, cappuccino and much more. Fabio is very helpful and the whole place has a nice familiar environment. If you have car, you can park in front of the house and Fabio will help you with parking tips for the area. If you're not, they're at about a 6 mins walk from the public transport which will take you to the center in 10 min and costs about 1,50€ per travel.

Grand Hotel Continental Fabulous 8.6 brilliant central location in old city. staff helpful and polite. interesting historic building.
Hotel Garden Very good 8.1 The garden, terrace with stunning view off Siena City, the restaurant and pool-area. Nice relaxing hotel in walking distance of Siena old City.
Hotel Minerva Good 7.6 Location, nice and quiet but only a few minutes walk from town centre. Lovely spacious, clean room and bathroom. Free wifi (worked better in reception than room).
Albergo Chiusarelli Very good 8.4 Very nice hotel. Feels like home. We had a room with a stadium view - quiet and big enough. There's a tv, fridge, big comfortable bed, table, chair. hospitality staff - will always help and advice about the places in Siena, also will call a cab in 2 minutes. Breakfast is fool of food and drinks - tasty. A breakfast room in the old style - but everything made with some special things. It's really a place where I wanted to stay longer than I had to and it was sad to leave. And when I came there for the first time I was glad to see that it looks the same that I saw it on the pictures. Thanks for that.
Hotel Athena Fabulous 8.9 Great hotel very centrally located with very helpful staff. The walk to the center of the city is minimal and prepares you for wonderful sites within the old walls. Could not fault the Athena on anything during our stay. Very well presented hotel and facilities. Loves the bar on the 7th floor, great place to unwind.
Hotel Italia Fabulous 8.8 Our stay was really amazing. the front desk staff, chambermaids and breakfast room staff were really caring. Breakfast specialties are homemade must eat pastries. Il Chiostro Del Carmine Very good 8.1 Loved this hotel, it was charming and special. The staff was very helpful and extremely friendly. The wifi is non existent in the room but excellent in the lobby area. The breakfast was typical continental (I never expect too much). Location was on the edge of the tourist area but Siena was small enough to walk everywhere.
Villa Scacciapensieri Very good 8.5 The hotel gave a real feeling of Tuscany... Beautiful, special, quiet and though it is not near the center we had a car so it was no problem Parking was convenient.
Hotel Santa Caterina Fabulous 8.8 The room, the garden, the location, the staff, the breakfast. Everything! To get there by bus you need to take bus 17 from the far bus station (direction:to the historical city centre) to Piazza del Sale. Romantic Renaissance

Located among undulating meadows and Chianti vineyards, Siena shines as a jewel of the Tuscan Renaissance, and has been listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Experience the famous Palio di Siena horse race, catch the pulse of the city at Piazza del Campo, visit the beautiful Duomo cathedral…and fall in love with this charming city!

Founded by Etruscans around 900 BC, the city was first conquered by Romans and later by Lombards. The Middle Ages saw it becoming the independent and flourishing Republic of Siena, until its annexation to the Grand Duchy of Tuscany.

The economic difficulties that followed turned out to be a blessing for the preservation of its historic centre. Adorned with frescoes by Ghirlandaio and bass-reliefs by Donatello, Lorenzo Ghiberti, and Jacopo della Quercia, the Duomo represents the highest expression of this well-kept legacy. The shell-shaped Piazza del Campo, with the Palazzo Pubblico and the Gaia Fountain, is still the heart and soul of the city. Follow the labyrinth of narrow streets and passages that irradiate from there and you will be enchanted by its romantic atmosphere from ancient times.

The closest airports are Peretola Airport in Florence and Galileo Galilei International Airport in Pisa, though Guglielmo Marconi Airport in Bologna is also well connected. While planning your trip, don’t forget to check out the Siena accommodation deals on Booking.com!
