Petra is a great place to visit as it is one of the wonders of the ancient world. The moment we come out of siq( canyon type rock cut way) and see the Treasury , it has a magical experience. The Petra visit combined with Wadi Rum are excellent combination in souther Jordan- certainly worth visiting.

Stayed two nights but three would have been better.
Stayed two nights but three would have been better. We missed the evening hike due to other arrangements. Overall, great experience. We hired a driver to drop us off for the backdoor hike into Petra. Start early and it is really worth it.

Petra is breathtaking.
Petra is breathtaking. I cannot describe it more accurately. Little Petra is also a hidden Jewel.
The Petra museum is worthwhile to visit.
Petra by night did not meet my expectations (and perhaps of may others).

2023 update if you wanna travel on your own from Amman (not with an agency), best thing is to stay 1 night in Petra and 1 night in Wadi Rum, travel with JETT buses:
- take the 7 am JETT bus from Amman to Wadi Rum, arrive by 10.30 am
- walk around Petra the whole day. Bonus points for staying until sunset.
- take the JETT bus the next day at 11.30 am to Wadi Rum. Spend the day and watch the sunset, stargaze
- chill and do activities around the camp. Take the JETT bus to Amman at 5.00 pm
---
If you can, spend 2 nights in Petra. You can take it easier and you can do more hikes and see gorgeous views

Obviously went to Wadi Musa to visit Petra; for me, 1 full day in Petra was enough, but I was there for 14 hours, which can be a lot for most. If you want to take your time a bit more, or aren't too much in shape (there's a lot of hiking up and down), I would suggest 2 full days instead. I don't think there's much else to do in Wadi Musa than Petra really.
The views from the terrace are lovely. The room was comfortable, though lacking in power outlets. Here are the prices of the services we received:
To-go breakfast: 5 JOD per person
Dinner: 13 JOD per person
30 minutes of machine washing time: 8 JOD
Local guide to Petra: “Around 80-85” but the guide will demand 95 JOD
Wadi Musa is a nice little town with great restaurants. You don’t need to eat at the guesthouse—spread your tourism dollars around! We highly recommend Falafel Time and Sana’a Yemen.
The guest house was very clean and well maintained.
This was my family's second visit to Petra and we stayed at an expensive hotel last time out. However, the Leen Guest house was FAR better than any hotel we have been to and is also a much better value for money. Also, the location is excellent and you can see the entire Wadi Musa from the terrace.
The hosts are also very friendly and accommodating!
We really enjoyed our stay and highly recommend it to anyone visiting Petra.
Very clean, comfortable rooms. Very kind staff. Good breakfasts, served from the early morning hours (6.30 a.m.) so that after breakfast, tourists can go sightseeing in Petra in the morning (important due to the heat that prevails later). A comfortable hotel, perfectly suited to the needs of tourists. Perfect hotel as a base for Petra and Wadi Musa.
Nearby lots of shops and restaurants. I sincerely and highly recommend Beit Albarakah Restaurant.
Lovely small and quiet hotel just a 10-15 min walk from the entrance to Petra. Lots of shops and restaurants within a 2 minute walk of the hotel and the rooms were well equipped and comfortable. This was one of the cheaper hotels we booked during our stay in Jordan and the staff were so kind and helpful and there were lots of extras in the room we didn’t expect which made it even better especially after a long drive.
Everything was great and I think this is perfect place for stay in Wadi Musa. We wanted to go at Petra early in the morning and they prepared a breakfast box for us. The accommodation offers a parking space infront of the hotel. 5min with car away from Petra visitors center and 5min walking distance from the restaurants malls...Room was clean and very spacious. Fully recommended and great value for the money
Very friendly staff members. We enjoyed our stay at Petra Sky Hotel. We woke up very early one morning to walk down to Petra Visitor Center (20 minutes walk) and the hotel left a morning food pack for us in reception as we would not be able to go to breakfast. They also allowed us to check out little later as our flight was only in the evening and we left Wadi Musa only in the afternoon.
Ample free parking, directly across from the hotel. Very clean and updated interior. The room was a decent size. The bathroom was spacious and the shower worked well. On check-in staff explained how to tour Petra in the way most optimized for the amount of time we had. They provided a map with approximate times that was helpful to understand approximately how long we need.
Extremely close to the Petra visitor center. Just a couple of minutes of walking and you are there. The breakfast buffet was excellent and if you want an early start at Petra the staff prepare a breakfast box for you to take with you. The property is clean and staff were excellent. If visiting Petra is your reason to be in Wadi Musa, you can’t go wrong with this hotel.
The owner of this hotel is the sweetest man. He helped me out so much when I was ill. He also loves to give you all the advice for your trip to Petra. He told me a lot about his culture And I really enjoyed talking to him. The hotel has a beautiful view over wadi musa and the dunner is so good!! I really enjoyed my stay and hope to come back in the future.
The location is great. If you come to Wadi Musa to explore Petra, this place is only 5-10 minutes by foot from the main entrance, so perfect to be there early in the morning before the crowd arrive. Good value for money as most hotels in this area of the town are expensive.
The breakfast is very simple and it was brought to thw room on time.
Great breakfast, nicely situated on a mountain up from the noisy, crowded Wadi Musa, with exceptional view to the sunset.
Very helpful and friendly staff, helping with anything expected from a 5 star hotel.
Also liked being welcomed by vouchers for the bar (made a good introduction to the hotel's kitchen, facilities and stunning view
Modern clean and comfortable. The breakfast buffet was high quality and delicious. The staff were helpful and very friendly. Jordan has clearly put their “A Game” into the Petra tourist infrastructure and the Petra Moon Hotel is a lodging option to please the most discerning of traveler. I highly recommend this property!
The staff here are absolutely amazing, one of the best hotels I have stayed in for service. First night we arrived very late and they brought a beautiful spread of dinner to our room. They accommodated requested quickly. The free shuttle service to Petra is excellent. We had breakfast and dinner included, both were nice.
The hotel is at the top of a hill, so unlike most hotels near Petra, the views from our room and the balcony are beautiful, seeing the sunset is an essential part of the visit! It was also helpful to be able to eat breakfast before 6am so we could arrive to Petra for the opening time, beating the crowds and the heat.
Nomads hotel is more a hostel than a hotel, in good and bad: there is a nice young vibe, the guys at the receptions are very friendly, there is a common kitchen and some common spaces where you can relax. The position is very good to visit Petra, a little far from donwtown (but that is the price, of course)
This is probably the best value room in Wadi Musa. You get the same level of room that you'd get in the 4 star hotels at around half the price. The organiser is also very helpful and the small breakfast is a bonus.
Staff were very friendly and welcoming. They helped booked our onward travel from Petra to Wadi Rum and arranged for us to be picked up from the hotel. Location is close to Petra entrance so ideal location.
Excellent view of Wadi Musa, comfortable and cosy room, good breakfast and dinner. I have a food allergy (celiac) and the staff was very careful to accommodate me. I would absolutely recommend this hotel!
