Hotels that guests love in Hakone

  • The hotel was right beside lake aishi.. Big room and good onsen. But the location is a bit far from the pier.

  • Delicious food and good service . I would say if you choose this hotel, you should include half board service. Because hotel restaurants are expensive and no cheap one nearby. So dinner and breakfast will worth your money at this point. For transportation , the bus stop named Palace Hotel Mae is right in front of the hotel, it is near Togandai and you could easily go lake Ashi and Ropeway to Owakudani or the others in 10 mins . Staff are helpful and can speak English. Good hot spring too.

  • Close to all transportation ( Trozan line-pirate ship-ropeway,Hakone free pass)and near pier for start Hakone journey. my sibling love how harmonize of the place and hotel is so cozy for relaxing in hotel's onsen on the top floor viewing Lake Ashi in the early morning. It is very peaceful in a good bargain of experiencing Japanese futon.

  • The hotel is close to Lake Ashi & Ropeway. The bus stop is right in front of the hotel, so it is easy to get to. A good place to experience a traditional onsen! Hakone was a lovely region to visit and we enjoyed experiencing all the different forms of transport.

  • We loved the prince! Right on the lake with a gorgeous view of Mt. Fuji. We came in from Tokyo, sent our bags ahead to the Prince, did the Hakone loop, and took the free shuttle from Odawara station at 4pm. The onsen is fantastic, and room very comfortable.

The Prince Hakone Very good 8.4 My family was stuck at Motohakone due to snow. The hotel staff picked up my family when public transportation was not available. Great staffs and people over there.
Fujimien Very good 8.3 Views of Mt Fuji from room and onsen, friendly and helpful staff, spacious Japanese room
Fukuzumiro Excellent 8.7 the onsen, dinner and breakfast. right beneath a big onsen place and a mountain shrine (very nice one). spacious rooms, original japanese style. other visitors are nice too.
Hoeiso Very good 8.5 The service is top of the its class. We were treated like VIPs from the moment we set foot on the ryokan. Guests are ensured total privacy as all meals are served in-room. The staff is extremely polite and efficient. Highly recommend booking the private onsen (hot spring) in the evening at no extra charge. The kaiseki dinner is excellent! Overall, a highly enjoyable experience of a ryokan in Japan!
Hakone Hotel Kowakien Good 7.5 Amazing location right across a public bath but the hotel has an amazing onsen anyway. Great service as always. And for an old building it's very well kept
Fujiya Hotel Very good 8 The staff--very well trained, always efficient and always naturally friendly. The hotel is charming in itself and perfectly situated for us to do what we wished to do: enjoy the landscape, museums and galleries, eat in modest traditional restaurants.(Excellent sushi nearby). And it was always a pleasure to return to the hotel and be greeted warmly. It is not cheap, but I don't think it could be run for less given the full staffing, and maintenance of the beautiful gardens.
Yumoto Fujiya Hotel Excellent 8.7 Love the location very close to train station. We book the triple room and it is so spacious. Toilet is superclean and spacious! Balcony view facing the mountain is calming
Hotel Green Plaza Hakone Very good 8.2 We enjoyed everything about this Hotel. The breakfast buffet offered a wide range of options and the special dinner served to us in the evening was delicious. The pick up and drop off service to the Ropeway station was much appreciated. Staying here was a special way of spending our last 2 nights in Japan. We also enjoyed the welcome drink both nights in the lobby and the live music performance on our last evening
Fuji-Hakone Guest House Excellent 8.6 Staff. Facilities. Location and the onsen
Hakone Suimeisou Very good 8.5 Staffs are very friendly and very good location.
Gora Hanaougi Exceptional 9.5 An amazing location, amazing ryokan and fantastic staff. We had a great time.
Hotel Okada Very good 8.1 We spent a night in superior family room with tatami floor. The room is really large and has both western beds and futons. It also has en suite bathroom. The Kaiseki dinner course is really delicious. The location is good. I mean easy transportation via shuttle bus A from the station. The impressive thing is the onsen. Two onsen in the 8th floor of the hotel is peaceful, feeling close to nature. The other 6 onsens (Yunosato) locates in the other hotel, which is still in Okada chain. It has bubbling bath. But I think the onsen is quite small than expected. Although the staffs are not fluent in English, they are willing to help. We cannot find a way to wear yukata and the staff did help us getting dress. Really thankful. But overall I like this hotel very much.
Ichinoyu Honkan Very good 8.2 Meal Private onsen (open air means balcony, not garden) Very attentionate staff
Hotel Musashiya Very good 8.2 Location is great. Staff are friendly.
Hakone Tent Excellent 8.6 every thing just ammmazing central location near cable car and gora train stn staff very kind and helpful cleaness of the place comfortable japanese style bed rooms great onsen affordable prices for rooms and food book it now(:(:(:!!!!
