It's like Latvian Twin Peaks.
It's like Latvian Twin Peaks. Take your time to wander around, up and down, all these wooden pathways and roads. I especially like to walk in Līgatne during the dark hours. Very mystic and inspirational.

This place offers a geography that is not present in most of Latvia. While most of the country is flat as a pancake, this place has some hills and cliffs of exposed compressed sand. Gauja river is nearby if you want to have a swim or sail a boat. There's not much to visit though, and because of the tourists, the prices are insane for Latvian countryside. All three places you can eat in are expensive and the food is so-so. There's a zoo, a suspended net park for kids, and old abandoned paper factory that requires you to book tours in advance. That's about it.

Gorgeous nature, nice walking trails and the nature reserve...
Gorgeous nature, nice walking trails and the nature reserve is a must-visit. And the soviet bunker of course is also a must-see. A great place to visit which is close to the city yet far enough to have its own vibe.

The kitchen and bathroom are well equipped. The location of the apartment right by the river makes it special. There is a very good restaurant next door. There is a lot of exciting things to do in Ligatne for both adults and children. Definitely recommend.

Small nice kitchen with lovely teas available for hotel guests. Breakfast was quite tasty and offered some variety and it was wonderful we could enjoy it in a private lounge since we traveled with a one year old. Quick check in and check out, the staff very friendly and willing to help.

Forest, caves, board walks, old factory ruin and lake right behind the house. Ligatne nature trails nearby. The apartment has everything you need. Most important locations in the national park are within a 10-25 minute drive. We would have loved to stay longer.

It's well-located, and a great base for visiting restaurants and hiking in Ligatne. The host was helpful and prompt with responding to queries, and the bathroom was well-equipped.
