Hotels Guests Love in Tulum

  • the old school jungle cabanas reminded me of the old tulum before hotels like papaya playa took over this little patch of paradise. still, there is a little bit of something for everyone here. a solid restaurant, excellent dj and regular activities for those wanting a social scene. but you can also drop off the grid, stop checking your email and enjoy the expansive 1km beach.

  • Great location. A little further away from the "cluster" of hotels and cabanas near Tulum. Very well kept grounds and beaches. All of the rooms face the ocean. excellent staff.

  • The cabanas are gorgeous, beautiful inside and out overlooking the sea. You feel very close to nature and not like you are in a resort. The beach is private and beautiful. Tulum is growing, many hotels and new businesses are sprouting up in this small area of Mexico. Azulik continues to hold the magic of this beautiful environment.

  • The location of Xcanan is amazing and the owner is just a great guy! Fabio is in the right business for sure; he makes you feel at home and cared for and all around wonderful to be in Tulum. Tulum is an ecotourism resort type of place. None of the hotels on the beach have a/c or super fancy rooms but what they do have is access to the sun and the breeze and one of the most beautiful beaches on earth. I will be back ASAP!

Be Tulum Beach & Spa Resort Very good 8.4 Be Tulum is the perfect degree of "rustic" without being "roughing it" at all. You feel like you're really living in the jungle on the beach -- just with A/C and no bugs. The staff is super fun, the food is delicious, the facilities are amazing, and the location could not be better. We kept saying that we felt that we had discovered the best kept secret on the planet.
Cabañas Tulum Excellent 8.8 The serenity and vacinity of our cabana to the ocean. The staff and the delicious, free breakfasts at Ziggy's. No T.V and limited internet allows for True relaxation!
Ana y Jose Charming Hotel and Spa Excellent 8.6 The staff was wonderful, very friendly and accommodating. The grounds and beach were gorgeous and the location was perfect. My only complaint would be that the WiFi is a bit weak, unfortunately I have no choice but to work while on vacation. Other than that it was awesome!! Thank you Alexander, Felix and Frederico!!
Papaya Playa Project Good 7.2 We loved our stay at Papaya Playa! Our little ocean view hut was amazing and the staff and everyone there was so friendly and helpful. We can't wait to come back and have told all of our friends they MUST go!
Mestizo Hotel Boutique Very good 8.2 it is just perfect!!!! Those who seek paradise, found it! If you want to run away from your daily routine life, this is the perfect place to stay! The 4 days what we spent here was the most remarkable experiance in our life! will come back for sure!
The Beach Tulum Wonderful 9 My partner and I have just come back from two weeks at The Beach Tulum, and had an amazing time. We were warmly greeted after a long flight from Aubrey, who was always helpful. One of the impressive things is that the staff throughout the hotel remembered our names whenever we met them. A nice touch. Leonardo, one of the managers always made sure that we were looked after, and Barbara and Freddy in the bars were great. I couldn't actually fault anyone. The room, although a little rustic to what we're used to, was very comfortable. The air conditioning worked as did the ceiling fan, but there was always a wonderful breeze from the sea. The beds are large, and very comfortable, with toppers, which is something we like, and generally found in boutique hotels these days. Free Wifi available, not a strong reception, but adequate. The location is absolutely fabulous, and although we had a hire car we wanted to spend most of the time at the hotel. A wonderful beach and an idyllic pool area. The food at Ziggy's was superb, and we ate most of our meals there, although tried a couple of other places. We loved our stay, and were given a hug when we left, which felt really genuine. Very talented staff! Thank you so much. Kevin and Osvaldo.
Casa Violeta Good 7.2 Beautiful people, rooms and atmosphere!
Villa Las Estrellas Wonderful 9.1 Villa las Estrellas was fabulous. Peaceful and serene. Beautiful and calm, the staff extraordinary with their smiles and graciousness. The food was wonderful. Thank you for an exceptional holiday.
Hotel Amoreira Very good 8.5 Very quiet, ecological, inside the green and the sun on the beach So good
La Vita é Bella Very good 8.2 The flow of beach into the hotel, pristine sand underfoot, location 5 min drive into town, Desmerelda's towel animals, beautiful part of the beach.
Sueños Tulum Wonderful 9 We liked the ability to be able decompress and relax so quickly. No power in the rooms was very freeing of all the fuss and muss we didn't need there. The beds were so comfortable, the rooms very clean, the staff was very attentive and being right on the miles and miles of the softest sand made for some great long walks and conversation. Being able to hear the sound of the ocean each night as you lay in bed and watch the sun come up also as you lay in bed was truly calming. That's the word I like to describe Suenos...calming.
Casa Magna
Diamante K Very good 8 Everything was amazing. Macro is exceptional and makes you feel right at home. The food is great. The location (right on a quiet private beach) is unlike anything we have ever seen. We extended our stay it was so good. We would definitely recommend doing the sea snorkeling with the local that brings his boat right up to the private beach. Also Sac-a-tun Cenote was brilliant and worth the extra pesos, you get to snorkel/float in a maze of caves. Make sure to bring cash when traveling outside of Cancun.
Villa Pescadores Very good 8.5 The location, location and location. Private and quiet, beautiful beach helpful staff. Other hotels in the area looked stuffy and formal compared to the rustic but comfortable simplicity of this delightful place
