This hotel is not for families, it was way to much noise all night long drunk people scream in the hallways , our door was nock at 1-3 in the morning woke up our children age 2y, 6y, 8y. The staff were so helpless, unfriendly and rude. Every time we had to eat was so stressful cause the waiters will be so mad and we will ask for things like water they will take for ever to give to us. It was a buffe every time but water wasn’t available or even a spoon. They drop drinks next to ur table they didn’t clean it the whole breakfast we were there, i was so afraid any of us will fall down. Front Thea people never knew the answer. Overall we were so disappointed. It feel like a super cheap hotel, full of a lot of drunk people. I read bad reviews and didn’t payed attention but I wish I did. I’m not happy at all with this hotel experience and I’m not planing to eve go back. The ocean was the only thing was good about our trip.

The beach is public, therefore a bit too many people (especially on weekends). Though not sure if you can find a more private one next to a hotel.
Not much for walking as well, only max 2 miles of the beach, after that rocks.

About an hour from Cancun airport.
About an hour from Cancun airport. Lots of parks around offering adventure trails, dolphin expeiences, natural features. We went to a cenote (freshwater sinkhole) and did some swimming. There are quite a few of these in the region and thoroughly recommended.

Resorts are phenomenal! Food and service was top notch.
Resorts are phenomenal! Food and service was top notch. Tons of cenotes and mayan ruins to visit. You could spend a week there and still not see enough! I definitely want to go back soon!!
I stayed at the Catalonia Royal which was such good value for the price. The resort is adults only so no kids was a plus for me.
The driving was actually better than i imagined it to be, getting around is pretty easy and convenient, although, beware of the sleazy sales people everywhere (Car rental places included)

Unfortunately there was a lot of seaweed,( Can't control mother nature) in the scheme of things it was still beautiful. We were recommended to a beautiful resort and we spent the day there and enjoyed ourselves to the fullest.
Quite new hotel located in the Barcelo group near the Playa del Carmen. Very large and comfy rooms. HUGE bed and very comfy. Perfect services, good food, good drinks, no queues for anything (drinks, sunbeds, food in the buffet). Some activities like salsa, ping pong, zumba, bingo. The beach was really nice, although very low water. 4 al carte restaurant - looking really amazing and the taco night was superb. In the family hotel next by (a part of Barcelo resort) there was dolphinarium, water sports centre, shops, etc.
From the moment you arrive you feel relaxed and calm. The name Serenity fits perfectly. The pool is amazing and our room was the best room we stayed in on our 2 week vacation. We were a family of 4 and my kids loved not sharing a bed, the extra bed provided fit fine in the large room.
The shower was amazing and the shell faucets were so cool.
The entire grounds were clean and so relaxing, a short walk to the beach with great lounge chairs and a bar.
The most incredible experience!! We were amazed by how great the room was. We slept so well, loved the shower and the massive and super comfortable bed. Thanks to the hotel we also got an amazing spot at the beach nearby where the food was amazing and we could enjoy a day chilling by the sea. The staff was so helpful and always asking us if we needed something else. Such an amazing time spent there, and I wish we could go back soon!
We the location. The resort is along a bay with wonderful clear water that at times had gentle rolling waves and other times had bigger waves suitable for body surfing. The sand was soft, which was important when we played beach volleyball for hours. The resort also does a good job preserving the jungle between the highway and the beach, giving a habitat to iguanas, coatis, and agoutis, as well as other animals.
The property is beautiful. The place was not overcrowded, the beaches were clean and calm, the water was crystal clear, and there was no up-sell pressure. We felt very comfortable because if we wanted something, the staff pointed us to the right people and didn't try to up-sell us on promotions or tours. We got the tours that we wanted and we felt like the staff made good recommendations, rather than upselling us.
The hotel and property were terrific; they were among the best I have ever stayed in. The rooms were excellent and well, and the staff aimed to please. The food was out of this world. The buffet was one of the best I have ever been to. From the fresh fish daily to the fresh tacos.
The gorgeous pool, lack of children, SUPER friendly staff. Buffet choices were also great- vegetarian fare was easy to come by. Outdoor lounge area attached to our room was lovely. Weather was perfect. Hydrospa was very enjoyable. Falconer on beach to ward off smaller birds.
The hotel is beautiful, they have nicely decorated garden, restaurant, parking. Every tent has it’s own terrace. Very quiet and lovely. Beds in our Lodge were wide and comfortable. Every room has air conditioning. Breakfast was lovely.
Cosy, clean, hotel. animals around )
Very nice pool area, in general hotel is very well taken care of
Super friendly and helpful staff, everywhere! They really go above and beyond to meet&exceed the expectations
Nice gym!
Great hotel, adult only. Perfect to relaxing. You dont need to leave the hotel, you have 2 stores with all essencials and 6 restaurants. You can take some tours too, i highly recommend Chichen Itza and Tolum.
We had the cabana/tent right on the beach, and it was perfect.
The on-site bar/restaurant staff were really chill and accommodating. The whole stretch of beach is wonderful, with lots of secluded areas.
We loved the stay. Everyone who worked at the hotel were top of their game. The setting and the service were amazing. The manatee trip was SO GOOD. Sunsets were 💯
