A very peaceful beach town with several great restaurants and cafés with amazing view of beach or a calm and collected view of the village. The whole place is clean, well-managed, safe, and peaceful. Although it is not a big city, it has all the things from groceries and bars to clothing shops and dessert cafés. Katwijk is beautiful..... end of.
Katwijk is beautiful..... end of. This is a delightful little town which is 100% Dutch through and through. I hardly heard any English voices during our holiday which was really quite refreshing. The town does not suffer from over-tourism. Menus for restaurants, coffee shops, signs, notices are all in Dutch with no other language... and rightly so. You needed to ask for an English menu which was more-than-happily provided. The Hotel Noordzee has a fantastic location.... right next to the beach and right in the town centre. There is a baker shop called Bakker Van Maanen... which could be possibly the best bakers in the whole world. I bought bread from them on the last day (freshly made) to bring home with me. It was absolutely amazing. So yes, I will hugely recommend Katwijk. Go to Holland, .... get away from Spain, Greece, Italy, Portugal, they're all the same. Holland through and through for me :-)

Great location, friendly staff. The first night we ate in the hotel and the food was very good. Beautiful clean sandy beach. We visited the model village of Holland which was very good, with great inter activities.

A nice seaside resort, very clean and with an excellent beach. We liked the location of the restaurants on the beach itself, where you could choose a different one for dinner each evening. But more of them could do with putting a menu outside - we did actually leave one after we had entered and purchased drinks when we couldn't find anything we liked on the menu . Very handy and frequent local bus service into Leiden (20 minutes). Underground car park beneath the sand dunes is huge and very convenient.IanUnited Kingdom

The room and shared bath were clean and up to date. The room was warm in during my winter stay. The bed was comfortable and the window was good for both weather and sound insulation. A hot water kettle and a few tea & coffee sachets, and cup is in room, as is a sink for water. The Wi-Fi worked well.

It is towards the back and has no view or garden, but the beachfront is just a few meters away. It is a cute little house where I felt quite comfortable. It is clean and well equipped. The owner is very friendly and helpful. ESTEC is in walking distance and it is also a perfect base for cycling.
