Spreading for hundreds of miles from the mouth of the Oslofjord, Oslo is the largest city by area in Europe and is liberally covered in pristine forests rising up into the outlying hills. South of the unassuming city hall lies a vibrant waterfront known as Aker Brygge, which in summer is full of bustling outdoor restaurants and bars.
For the prettiest buildings head to affluent inner-city suburbs of Frogner and Fagerborg, or admire the traditional Scandinavian wooden houses of Bygdøy and Holmenkollen. Monumental buildings include the Royal Palace which runs daily tours and the Akershus Festning, which is a medieval castle that also served as a military base and provides impressive views of the Oslofjord. Oslo City Hall, or rådhus, offers even more distinctive architecture and it is the location of the Nobel Peace Prize ceremony.
Nature is never far away in Oslo which is ringed by an archipelago of islands which are extremely popular in summer. Hiking, kayaking and sailing are all easily achievable within the city limits. Just as popular are the many museums. The national Museum houses Edvard Munch’s famous painting The Scream and Viking Ship Museum containing long-lost relics from Norway’s Viking past.
From downtown Sentrum to the Oslo Airport Gardermoen to the stunning statues in Frogner Park, Booking.com has over 80 hotels and other accommodations available.

Great city to see, but if you don't plan on doing many activities or going to museums a weekend is enough to see the major tourist attractions and see the city. I would definitely not recommend going to the munch museum (while I love his art) especially if you are in a wheelchair or need to bring a bag for (for example) medical reasons because you WILL get permission at first but be kicked out later. Super unfriendly staff and amazingly underwhelming. I would recommend the opera house and wandering around the many different shopping centres. The natural history museum is also very nice! The statue park is definitely worth the walk from the centre!

We were passing through on the way to Stockholm and were there only for the night, unfortunately. Oslo seems like a lovely city, with an attractive and accessible harbour area with lots of restaurants. It was easy to find excellent pubby places and restaurants, the downtown area is very walkable. Possible to walk right up to the royal palace and house of parliament (which would never happen in the US, where we're always half-expecting trouble). Highly recommend Oslo, and then the train trip to Stockholm.

The city had been stormed on so my plan tp spend a day wandering was quashed by icy sidewalks. I went to the Royal Palace and wandered around Sentrum and that was it. City seemed nice and the people I encountered were friendly. If I get the chance I will spend a week in Oslo and really explore. It looks like a great city from the limited visit I had.

Oslo, the capital of Norway, boasts stunning natural beauty, with its picturesque fjords and lush greenery. The city's efficient public transportation and extensive bike paths make it easy to explore, while its rich cultural scene offers a variety of museums, galleries, and vibrant street art. However, the high cost of living can be a drawback for budget travelers, and the winters can be harsh. Despite the pricey aspect, Oslo's charm lies in its blend of modernity and nature, providing a unique experience for visitors.

We enjoyed a couple of days in Oslo (would like to visit in the Summer and do more outdoor things). It is a clean city, and easy to travel around but lacks a little character (the old city burned down a couple of 100 years ago). We visited 3 museums which were excellent value for money and very interesting.

Amazing city, with friendly and polite people.
Amazing city, with friendly and polite people. There's no traffic! The facilities all over the city were clean and inclusive. Every facility was warm inside and offered comfortable furniture. It was very expensive though. All transports are very good, punctual and run very regularly, even at night.
There is an excellent breakfast buffet and in a country like Norway where restaurant food is expensive, this was a great feature. As well, we had a twin bedroom which was in a remodeled part of the hostel and had its own shower and toilet for an extra $15. The hostel is on the No. 17 tram from the RR station so, aside from the 5-8min walk to get there, it is actually quite convenient. I must add that Thor and the other desk staff were always very friendly and helpful!
The hotel was only a short walk from the station which runs straight from the airport! Staff were excellent and helpful. We stayed in a twin loft room and it was perfect and I even fit in the beds being 6ft 7!
Complimentary breakfast was amazing. The food selection was great and the staff couldn’t do enough for you! I do suggest getting in early tho as it can be busy.
Spa Facilities were beyond this world and definitely needed after exploring Oslo city center!
As the hotel is located in city center, it is accessible to important sight seeing points. The staff was courteous. The facilities in the room provide all essential basic requirements for short stay and stand true to the description of the hotel. Loved the mood lightening. Had comfortable sleep for two nights. We found the rate we paid justified the value. Will recommend the hotel
Clean hotel, very small room but adequate for what we wanted for one night. Access to fridge and some basic cooking facilities in the dining area of the hotel. Comfy beds. Generally easy to navigate with bags, ramps and lifts as well as stairs. Close to Oslo city centre, very easy walking from there to all the main features of the city.
Hotel located right in the center of the city, it presents a remarkable interior architecture with very interesting design and shapes, the room is very comfortable and the service was 5 stars, typical of a hotel of this class.
I would definitely stay at this hotel again next time. 👏👏👏😊😊😊
Room was warm and cosy - even though the bathroom door is see-through (so a bit awkward if you're sharing the room with friends). Breakfast was very good - the highlight of the hotel. Great location, right in the city center. I would definitely stay here again.
The hotel is outside the city center, but everything was within walking distance so it was OK. Breakfast was great - it is one of the main reasons to choose this hotel. Staff was cheerful and helpful. Oh, and there was free coffee next to the reception
It was decorated so well! It was modern Scandinavian. The bfast was the best I’ve had in Norway. The staff was wonderful. The location was great and close to airport trams and trains to Bergen. It was quiet even though it was in the center of things.
Location location location! So easy to access from the airport train, easy walking distance to most city center attractions. This was also the only hotel I could find that had 3 beds in a room (queen and bunk beds) that worked for our family.
The place is an historical building expanded to a modern hotel. we had splendid 24 hours there and everything was perfect. the staff was super helpful and we felt at home with all the comfort of a 5 star hotel!
Great location, the city centre can be reached on foot or by tram, the tram station is right across the hotel. Breakfast was amazing with many choices. Beds were comfortable. The staff was very friendly.
Everything was really nice! It was a pleasure to stay here. The breakfast was excellent. There is a metro station near the hotel, you can get easy and fast to the city centre.
i enjoyed the breakfast and dinner, save me some money. The in-between coffee and snacks was a great idea. they get my visitation next time i am in Oslo Norway
